I am so sorry for your loss. I know what you mean. I experienced the same thing.
Two things I have learned in life to recommend...men, teach your wife to be a widow, and women teach your husband to be widowed...second..young people, sit down with your grand parents and a video cam..ask grandma about her growing up...ask grandpa, separately, then ask them together about their married life..same for parents....when they die, they take the gold with them...their memories..save them learn who and why you are...and then let your kids do the same for you....
I have often said this exact phrase! My husband died just before my 50th birthday, and although I kinda knew it to be true, I didn’t think he would go quite so early. No one says this aloud, of course, but I think it is a subconscious truism that we all know.
