I guess this fits best under Politics, but is anyone else disgusted with the way jingoism and bias have become so ingrained in the corporate media that during the last ten days of coverage of the World Track and Field Championships on NBC, the commentators never mentioned that Russia was absent from the event? I grew really disgusted with how they kept crowing that the US was winning more medals than ever before at those events and then finally that they had won more than any other country in history at a world track championship. Well, duh, it's not that hard to do when the second biggest medal winner country at all the previous events isn't there competing. It just shows that we have arrived at Orwell's 1984, where the memory hole is the norm and doublespeak is the language. Everything is "doubleplus good", as Orwell would say...
