The only thing worse than prosecuting Trump is not prosecuting Trump. What kind of “president”…..er, precedent, would that set? It would embolden him, or someone like him, to try it again in the future, and next time possibly succeed.

Try what again? Growing the economy? Making the US energy independent? Keeping American soldiers from being killed? Having the lowest unemployment rate in history? Having the lowest minority unemployment rate in history? Having the lowest female unemployment rate in history?

@CourtJester You know what I’m talking about. The Jan. 6th coup attempt. Fomenting and directing a violent insurrection in order to illegally hold onto power. That’s why he should be prosecuted and imprisoned.

@CourtJester You clearly haven’t been watching the Jan. 6 hearings. Liz Cheney and Co. have exposed your hero for the cancerous law-breaker that he is. Seriously, if you can’t see that Trump’s constant repetition of THE BIG LIE—“The election was stolen! The election was stolen!”—was in and of itself a threat to democracy, then of course the events of Jan. 6th wouldn’t impress you either. You blow all these things off because you simply can’t afford to admit the truth: That without his “base” Trump is a freak show carnival barker who isn’t worthy of drawing more than a handful of listeners. So the real problem, in other words, is not Trump, it’s the people who give him power. The tens of millions of Americans, like you, who don’t care about democracy, don’t understand democracy, and don’t want democracy.

@CourtJester Steve Bannon was subpoenaed and REFUSED to appear and will now be spending time in jail for contempt. Which is preferable to lying under oath I suppose. So claiming that Trumpists aren’t being ALLOWED to testify is a bald-faced lie. They’re AFRAID to testify because of the backlash they would face for betraying the Dear Leader. That’s what’s happening in the real world anyway. Give up the crack, man.

There have been dozens that have requested to testify have not been allowed.
It’s nothing more than a hook and crook to try to keep him from running in 2024 because they’re scared that he will break up their monopoly on power for money.

Oh, he is. I'd bet my dick on that. You know that old adage about if they want you they'll find something? 15 boxes of documents is a lot of documents and they had enough importance to not have destroyed them yet. I'd also bet there's been some tight satellite surveillance on him since it was discovered he had them. So long as they were just sitting there DoJ had a luxury of time. That's run out so they moved and he wasn't expecting it. He wasn't even there. He was in NY attending to that criminal case. The guy's lost a lot of friends and is kind of like Michael Corleone at the end (in the courtyard). Most want him gone and this would be their time. I'd get those forks out.
