Even if Trump is tried, convicted, and jailed, he can still run for POTUS and be elected in 2024. Especially with the GOP control of SCOTUS. The next few years could get a lot more interesting in the US, and not the good kind of interesting. There was a lone wolf attack on an FBI office this morning, more political violence is likely.

A commentater on MSNBC last week suggested that even if Trumpy ends up in prison, he could still be entitled to Secret Service protection!!!???.

Wouldn't surprise me. There's nearly 250 of precedent etc shielding a president or former president from actually being incarcerated. He'd pretty much have to commit a truly terrible crime like murder with absolutely incontestable guilt. Many on the left have convinced themselves he's guilty of all sorts of things like treason or sedition ... just because millions of people believe something isn't evidence in court. I'd be very surprised if he went to jail.
