TV viewing habits

What are yours?

I've recently changed mine. In the last 8 days, for example, I've not turned the TV on a single time. Before then it was very limited.

What I had been discovering about my TV viewing habits was 1) there was never anything on that interested me. 2) Oftentimes the channel would be turned to news to simply provide some "noise".

My use for TV is to watch some live sporting events and that's pretty much it. Even then at least 97% of sports on TV I could care less about. I like to follow some college football teams and when the futball world cup comes around I'll watch that and I follow the US national teams. Other than that I could give a shit about what's on TV. Comedies, dramas, reality, investigation, and obviously news. I get what I want when I want from the Internet. Even then I find less is more.

I've found that I'm not missing a thing and actually prefer spending my time void of the television. As for what to fill the void with, that's up to each individual but I certainly recommend keeping the TV turned off for the most part.

I only watch what I have told my DVR to get, and fast-forward through all commercials, all but the first of the 17 times they showed Theismann's leg breaking, aaaand etc.

Summer time programmes are mainly repeats of second rate shows.

DANCING WITH THE STARS began as a "summer show"!

I have not owned a TV since 1999 and don't miss it.

I'm ashamed to say I have it on all the time when I am home unless I have company.
