Blue light and sleep patterns:
Research has found that exposure to blue light suppresses the production of melatonin more than any other type of light. The evidence indicates that the shorter wavelengths in blue light are what causes the body to produce less melatonin because the body is more sensitive to this type of light.
It's why on night operations in the army you use red light when you don't want to be seen because the brain easily dismisses it or blue light when you are trying to get people's attention. This same juxtaposition is useful for cop cars as it really accentuates the blue at night time.
Wow.... we changed our motion light from blue to orange.
thank you for the reminder, Paul. since having had the new windows installed i kept having trouble sleeping - thought it's the moon
just checked my 'night light' feature, & lo & behold! it was off. remedied that instantly.
I agree, and this study has been out there for a few years now, and I think more people are finally catching on.
Yes I heard about that. I'm very good at sleeping
Apple I-phone has a “Nightshift” feature that automatically filters out blue light from dusk till dawn or other preselected time.
I use that feature. I like to watch streaming shows on my laptop before falling asleep, and I changed the color tone on my laptop too. I'm not sure if it's helping or not. I have some sleep issues...
I always have my red filter on the phone 24/7 !!!
All good there fellow tech enthusiast.
