Thanksgiving holiday is coming. Here is The WKRP Turkey Drop for a laugh.

Yeah, lots of classic funny in this series, as well as some interesting points. They used so much popular hit music that it became too costly to rebroadcast; ie what used to cost $5,000 to play a snippet of a song became $50,000 and more, and one of Jan Smithers' friends (Bailey) lives near me who said her character was like her real self... genuinely sweet and warm. All the rolls are based on real people as is the station (and WKRP stood for crap). Also, the lyrics of the outro theme were gibberish - a joke about rock songs of the day, while the intro actually charted on Billboard. You can find more fun facts about the show here: [metv.com]

loved Jan Smithers. One of my favorite female characters on TV when I was growing up.

Interesting to learn about the copyright issues, I didn't know that.

Apparently, a lot of us (who don't believe in God, or who are not that into it), liked the show, even though there was a decent amount of that theism in there, here and there. For me, it's just rolling with the punches and seeing the value there, even if it's in a primitive philosophic vocabulary.

@kmaz Yeah, it's royalty payments.

That was one of the greatest nuggets of comedy gold, of all time.

Loved this show. I still think about the phone cops sometimes.

This one and the "Taxi" bit.
"What....does...a....yellow...light....mean?

From "The man who fell to Earth" it meant go real fast.

@AlbertSchepis I remember that too.

"Oh, the humanity!", about the funniest thing I ever saw on network TV...
