Why aren't there ejector seats in all airplanes for passengers. Seat belts, air bags, ect are mandatory for manufacturing now ,why ...

Expensive? Not really, once it's done it just needs maintenance .. so why ? Cause they hate you peasants & or no one was creative enough or couldn't sell it to industry or the government to make it mandatory ,no one with money like billionaires did a thing ,some of them are probably too stupid to have one, cause yeah it's more rare for them because they have money to pay to make sure maintenance & safety checks happens, but a company... Run by more than one person ain't going to care as much perhaps because it's not their life on the line & they won't be charged with murder

What a dumb question. Okay, with just 2 minutes of thought here are some answers.
1, It would never get off the ground. The whole ejector seat assembly, detachable roof etc. adds a huge amount of weight to the aircraft. Now, this can be factored into 1, 2, or 3 seated aircraft but multiply that by 200 and?? Plus you could not physically fit all those ejector seats into a passenger aircraft given the width needed for each seat. Note that large bomber crews still have to physically bailout.
2, Where would you put the button? Obviously, it would have to be in the cockpit. You could not have little Johnny messing around with it on a long-haul flight. So the pilot would have to make that call. Now as another comment stated, there are injuries incurred by young fit pilots using them (they can lose 1/2" in height) and they are trained and braced for the force. Plus they have a full seatbelt that goes over both shoulders, not some simple belt that goes around the waist.
3, Why would you need it? Military aircraft are designed to be in iffy situations. The ones with ejector seats often operate on the limits of their performance. Ergo an ejector seat is not a luxury. Civilian aircraft on the other hand are built to NOT be in those types of scenarios. Their job is to get you up and down as safely as possible and never to put you in any danger. Whilst it is, unfortunately, true that they do sometimes end up there, it is very rare. Consequently, it is far more cost-effective in both money and lives saved to focus on systems that would avoid any danger rather than one that abandons ship.

Now if you were to ask more intelligent questions like "Why do the seats face forward?" or "Why are the seatbelts less secure than my cars?" You might have better answers.

Lies

Titanium is light enough and have less seats , also there's different ways to design it

But hey I bet you felt good saying all that..

Peasant

Doesn't have to rocket out like your trying to stop being killed when a missile will hit ,but can be fast enough with knowing the plane is going down , wouldn't be nearly as expensive or as injurious

@laidback1 Do you realise how much weight is a factor in aircraft? Why do you think that most of them are white or predominantly painted white? Because white paint weighs less. One airline saved $12,000 a year in fuel by simply changing their in-flight magazine from coloured paper to white paper.
Now with that in mind, you now think that all new aircraft (you are surely not dumb enough to expect them to be retrospectively fitted?) have 200+ ejector seats plus oxygen masks and independent supply.
Oh, and they get thrown out at such high velocity because they need to escape the aircraft NOT missiles. So you expect to have a system that can eject 200+ seats at 30,000ft, travelling at 600+mph that doesn't have to "rocket out"? It does not matter if the seat is as light as balsa wood, you still need to move a 300+lb man (we have all met them) 50 feet vertically. What do you propose using, an Acme spring like Wile E. Coyote? So sorry but it really would need 200+ rockets and their fuel supply (a danger in itself) plus the ability to detach the entire top half of the plane because not everyone sits in the middle, some have window seats. Oh and no overhead lockers obviously. So that safety system that drops down an oxygen mask is out.
I think that if you are that concerned about airline safety, you should take a train or ship when you travel.

You can call me a peasant but at least I have actually flown in an aeroplane. From your questioning, I seriously doubt that you have.

@laidback1 "Excuse me Mr Suicide Bomber. We do not allow you to carry any liquids over 200ml on board"
"That is okay, there will be a container of rocket fuel under my seat. I can just explode that"

@273kelvin the rails could go past the roof .. but hey keep showing your high intelligence off & mock .. if you had not questioned in a non mocking matter , I'd be polite, but you're not so fuck you

Also could have a a parachute or another device to slow the plane down.. but nooooo!!!!! Let's not keep thinking!!!! Let's just fucking let people die!!! And your ego can feel Good

@273kelvin fucking peasant instead of thinking a different way you just fucking double down for the win of not having better safety standards.. the people in power love you

@laidback1 I am so sorry I did not know that calling someone a peasant was a term of respect. So in that vain, I will strongly suggest that it might be an idea for you to cut down on your weed consumption. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a smoke as much as the next guy but it is possible to have too much of a good thing.

@laidback1 Oh and another thing. Let us suppose you have your brand new airliner complete with ejector seats for all 100 passengers (that is all it can fit, so anybody flying in it has to pay double and we know how successful that was with Concord). So there you sit on its maiden flight, all strapped into your seat. Then the unthinkable happens, a mechanical failure and the plane starts breaking up. But do not worry the captain hits the button and rails shoot you into the heavens away from certain death. Only to face death again because oops you forgot those fighter pilots have thermal clothing and it gets a bit nippy at 30,000 ft. So the oxygen and the parachute and all of those things you included do not protect you from hypothermia. Neither will that tank top, sombrero or the two vodkas you had to steady your nerves.
Unless of course, you insist that airlines stump up for thermal flight suits as well, You can imagine the fun and games as airline book-in staff explain to Karen from Road Island that she and her 4 charming little brats all have to don a flight suit which they can hire or buy at the usual bargain prices that airlines and airports love to charge.

Most pilots who use ejector seats are hurt, often seriously, though they are better out than in the plane. Considering that pilots are usually young fit people, I suggest that most people would be seriously hurt or killed by them in planes as most are neither. Ejector seats in Hollywood movies and in real life are quite different.

You're definitely going to have a greater chance of death or injury crashing

1

Ejector seats would be pretty useless without a removable roof and that would be very expensive. Then there's the chaos of 200 people being ejected all at once and running into each other.

Why all at once

Love how much you care about cost verse life .. you been trained well ..

You see the Canadian that's going to be homeless but it's okay cause he's just going to have the state kill him ,and he's not okay with it but he doesn't want to be homeless..too much medical bills the back surgery cost to much.. not like thousands of people have millions and more money they could ever use and plenty of money for war .. but let's just kill this guy .. save some money

@laidback1 The plane is about to explode at only seconds are available for ejection.

@Lorajay well then take a Gamble and eject All at once , cause all will die anyways
