I am a beer snob. I also know more than most about type 1 diabetes.

@Redcupcoffee a good domestic beer? There is no such animal. 😉 Some good Canadian stuff. Even the good Australian stuff isn't available in the states.

@Redcupcoffee There are some decent microbreweries. Best thing to do is find a pub in your town that brews on site, and try them.

Also, do you have a favourite type of beer, or country (German, pilsner, etc)? That will give you a good idea of where to start with the brewpubs.

@Redcupcoffee If you ever get to Portland (the real one, in Oregon 😉 ), they have some good local hefewizens. Probably Denver, too.

I actually found some decent brews in, of all places, Salt Lake City. Shocking, innit?

Movies definitely, candles, and laundry detergent.

@Redcupcoffee persil. The stuff is amazing.

@Redcupcoffee Kroger, and several other stores in the southeast.

Laundry detergent, yes! Purex is a curseword in my house. Persil or Tide Ultra Stain Release.

Yes, yes and yes. I am a cinefile and will totally judge you on your favorite movies. Good coffee is life. And toilet paper. Don't get me started on toilet paper. I have a bidet, so the paper is mostly just for drying off, but it still has to be my specific brand...

@Redcupcoffee I installed it myself. It's actually a bidet attachment for the toilet. Took 20 minutes and changed my life forever.

Snob about:

Coffee
Craft Beer
Food
Journalism
Fishing (topwater, no plastic worm or grub)

Oh, I know but they asked about snobbery and I feel a fish caught topwater (fresh I'm talking about, not salt) is just a more elegant catch.

Definitely journalism.

Yes . I am I won't go to wal mart. I won't even drive through the parking lot.

On the few occasions that I am forced to go in there, I find myself scanning for "People of Walmart" people. FWIW, I know this makes me a horrible judgemental person.

Same, except for maybe the parking lot part. I'll cut thru anything if Im forced to... LOL

Honestly... I am a bit of a snob, but we (you and I) being tasteful people when it comes to Scotch and “toilet tissue”... (not TP), we just know.

@Redcupcoffee ... what do you do with bamboo?
I hope you can tell me in a nice way.

I am with coffee

Not me, I grind the beans before each pot. Always pick quality beans. The kind of pot and grinder used affects the quality.

I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION A SNOB PERSON WAS ONE WITH DISDAIN FOR THOSE HE/ SHE PERCEIVED AS OF "LOWER CLASS"...I guess it may have something to do with toilet paper.

@Redcupcoffee But it does mean that.

No.
Snobbery is incredibly boring and reeks of superiority. I won't put up with that from anyone. Being picky about certain things is fine. There is a difference.

Over many decades, I have become a snob about proper grammar, great bourbon (small batch, small distillery), good lace (I sew), quality yarns (I knit), fluffy towels, and soft feather pillows.

Yes, towels, pillows and yarn! It's starting to sound like I might just be a snob in general! Lol

Many things, alas - coffee, margaritas, foundation, foundations(undies, etc), bread, music, movies, men. 😉

I’m snobby about women’s undies too ?

Yes. Food, I buy any kind of food I like, regardless of price, and I buy mostly organic, fresh food.

No, but I rarely eat dairy. I also observe Meatless Monday and only eat meat a few times a week. I think my body needs meat protein, so I eat a lot of eggs, (free range, cage free and/or organic), shellfish, and seafood. I do eat beef and pork. I don't like chicken. I would like to try harder to be Vegan, for ethical and environmental reasons but I'm still struggling. I love good food. My goal is to move toward at least being pescatarian. Although, some of the current dangers of eating fish may steer me in the right direction soon enough. Lol. I feel healthy and am at a good weight. Healthy food is everything. ♥

Coffee, maybe wine to an extent. I'm not sure how you can be a movie snob. LOL! Not wealthy enough to be snobby about much else. =]

Continuity?!?!?!?!?!

^^ That's how you be a film snob. Also, call it film 😛

Cigars, beer, coffee, and steaks. I’m a huge snob when it comes to these 4 things. I can tell a good cigar just from the smell the beer better taste like beer don’t give me any lite shit. Cheap coffee won’t even make it past my nose. My steak needs to be thick aged cooked over hardwood flames and don’t even try slip me a chunk of top round and call it a steak.

I am particular rather than snobby. I don't drink sweet wine. I don't drink bad coffee or good coffee if it is in a paper cup. I also don't like ratty looking clothes if someone is wearing them to look hip.

I didn't like acid wash jeans in the '80s nor jeans-with-holes in the 2000s.

I agree with you about the movies.
Books, pop, some people. 😉

Food, music, movies, TV shows. Big ol snob.

1

Subjects? Everyone and everything is a subject to my magnificent intellect! (except for a "great" guy called Donald, who assures us that his intellect is the best)

1

Can a person be only sort of an intellectual (as in, I only have an AA degree and haven't read most of the classics) and still be an intellectual snob? Because that's what I am.
