I got a new phone and a new number when I retired, almost immediately stated receiving topless shots from what appeared to be an underage female. Notified Verizon and they gave me a new number without question within a few minutes. Did you just get a new number? In any event block them.

Sounds like a wrong number. Still happens, even in this age of smart phones.

I'd just let them know they've got the wrong # then block them if it continues.

I have a number from an area code I've never lived in, so sometimes area code isn't always an indicator of where a person lives.

You should, in your texting app, simply be able to block that number. Then, regardless of what they try to send, it won't get through to you. They also won't get a delivery confirmation, so perhaps they'll get the clue...

They're not from this Texan. Maybe it's someone's error and they got the wrong number? A couple of weeks ago I got a number of calls (like 15) who thought I took people across the border - they were Spanish speakers (and I'm not) so it was confusing all around.

If no one fesses up, can you block the number?

Block, it could be a virus, so scan everything too. Do you have a decent carrier you can contact?
