Sometimes I think it would be best to just take my atheism home and not listen to all the repetitive arguments any more.

It's just getting tiresome and I just can't deal with the stupidity of people like William Lane Craig, Ken Ham, and Kent Hovind, nor the guy in the street opinions I hear in public debates.

It's just to weird to listen to people in the 21st century giving themselves college degrees in their version of Neverland while fighting to either teach their fairy tail in school or suppress hard science when it shows how stupid their superstitions are.

It's a shit show and I'm ready to change the channel for my mental health and happiness.

I can't stomach it either. It's so stale. Too many other things to contemplate.

I have seemed to have done that with people in a political group on another website. I just can't stand the same old arguments, the lack of facts, the ignorance, etc. on provable issues. People have somehow managed to turn things into an argument of beliefs and "alternate facts". Opinion is opinion, but people can't justifiably tell me that water isn't wet and it's.....like......just my opinion mannnnnnn! Lol

I agree and have slowly learned I am not going to change anyone’s mind. I try to educate people on truth and it’s like I have three heads.

My sister asked me why I celebrate Christmas as an atheist. I asked her why she celebrated Christmas (she is hardcore Christian) and she said because it’s the birth of Jesus.

I troed to educate her on the whole... “Jesus wasn’t even born on Dec 25, it’s actually the winter solstice, the reason why we bring trees inside the house... etc. and it’s like
I am the crazy one. I told her we don’t even know when Jesus was born but it was sometime in the fall... she can’t fathom that.

Amazing how brainwashed people can be.

I find it easy to filter out these types of people to avoid. I simply ask them "what would it take to change your mind?"

If they reply with "nothing" or "I'll never change my mind even if intense hyperbole..."

Then they are a waste of time debate wise; if they can't move beyond it I cut them out of my life. If they can, I try to find other good traits about them.

Bingo...

Street Epistemology is where it's at... asking people how they know what they think they know. ?

Right there with you. Something i do now is just put the ball in their court by giving them a few verses to ponder if their are christian. Jeremiah 19:9,1 Samuel 15:3, Joshua 11:6. But mostly i am tired of teaching them stuff before even continuing the conversation.

I try to ignore them unless they're making laws based on their delusions.

I never argue with people, but I do try to be a voice of reason when I get the chance. There are some people who will still listen to reason. The other evening, my 8 yr old granddaughter asked if it's lonely when you die. I was able to ease her mind and let her know that it was just like before you are born. The person has no more pain, and can't feel lonliness either. She was satisfied with that. I asked her if someone she knew had died lately, and she said "Jake". Jake was my dog, we had recently lost.

I totally agree with you, It's better to ignore them and just enjoy our lives.

My standard response is "Fuck off with that shit"
There is no debate or discussion when it comes to delusional fiction requiring willful ignorance to maintain.
It's not worth my time.

Yeah I tend not to argue as much these days it does get repetitive

I never argue religion or politics.
