10\12\2024 & the AI is still giving the wall of death

Many of us have enjoyed this site for years (I can't even count them) and realize that, like most sites, people come and go, current events will cause changes in discussions, tone, etc.

My suggestion would be....introduce topics you want to discuss. Realize that new members will join because (after all) the name of the site is AGNOSTIC.com and look to find ways to express and discuss that interest. Or....start a new group and begin with the topics which interest you.

I used to visit this sight almost every day, even if just briefly, but now I'll visit maybe once a week and barely give it a glance. Most of the posts I see are just bashing religion which really gets tiresome. Yes, we all agree that religion is bad but simply repeating that over and over is exhaustingly dull.

Also, the increase in spam posts (advertisements) has increased.

And the website has technical issues as well. I have trouble with searches and navigating this website at times - simple things that shouldn't be difficult at all.

Its too bad. Seemed like such a good website when I first joined.

I never post anything remotely to do with religion either….why would any non-believer want to? God must be living rent free in their heads if they are still talking about religion…but perhaps the damage which religion did to them has left an indelible mark on their psyches which they cannot remove.

I think we need to remember we are dealing with a machine. As such the word 'intelligent' doesn't seem to apply. There are simply set parameters with no obvious rhyme or reason. It's getting I'm getting tired of composing a post to have it censured. Marion did note it didn''t seem to apply to some who are out of the US.

Yes, this used to be a place where we could share thoughts and stories in a safe environment, when we might not be able to have such candid conversations in our real lives or our personal/business social media.

There's not much here any more, but I still check a couple times per week, to see if it still has a pulse. My conclusion is that it's struggling with its last breath. I miss the vibrant discussions that once were here.

It became much worse. It deteriorated into not being able to read posts or have your own not get disappeared. At least we don’t have to suffer shithead conservatives like David Silverman, Thomas Sheedy, or Atheists “for Liberty”. The latter sounds much like Moms for Liberty.

My guess is that the owner of the site passed its management onto their child. Said person may be an adult, but being conservative, used his privileges to disable posting for those with liberal leanings. As that is most of the regulars, traffic dropped. Also, this person invited a bunch of fellow conservatives. They came and went. It's sad because it reflects the attitudes in the election. Conservatives have a reputation for interpersonal abuse and disdain for the welfare of others. Usually this is a consequence of their own history of abuse and trauma. The net effect is that they degrade their own environment (shit in their own bed). And leave a mess for someone else to clean up, lacking the initiative or vision to create anything of value. Mainly, they only know how to take what others have developed and waste it on their own boredom.

The site barely works and is on its last leg. Many people including myself can't even post anymore. P.S. You're not past anything, you're not special. You aren't more of an intellect than anyone else on here, I've seen your terrible and illogical opinions on here. You sir are a dumb dumb.

I suggest you try [atheistuniverse.ning.com] . It is not Agnostic nor does it pretend to be. Still it has a lot going for it, besides being stable and functioning perfectly, with moderators who really keep the site running smoothly.

Quite agree Walt. It's become ridiculous reminding me of the happy slappy delusion that "all is wonderful in the world, clap your hands above your head like an intoxicated child".

The other day I posted in the general & hellos this uplifting video of native Bolivian women using their weaving skills to make very small stents to be inserted in babies & childrens bodies to repair heart & arterial damage. The post has been removed presumably because I commented that this sort of wonderful cooperation is not occurring in all parts of the world, particularly Israel & its Jews committing infanticide & genocide.

On the otherhand, this site has went down largely because many of us cannot post here any longer. Is it a glitch or by design? We really do not know. This started happening before the US election and has got no better since. Many of us are now on other sites but prefer to clinge to this one. I can reply to your post here and it is OK, but if I did the posting it would be removed somehow within a day.
