disclosure i use agnostic.com and have a Linkedin account. I do not have any other social media accoints.

Social media is the new crack. Ironically, i am using a social medium forum to make my point. I think this is different because we use it to just have discussions and it not being used as a diary of our lives. Here is me sitting in traffic, here is me on vacation, here is a picture of me with my school mates drinking at a bar etc.

Social media is the new crack. I believe my generation and those behind me are arresting their social development and quite frankly social norms all together.

Example. The premise of many people that brought them to a state if atheism or agnostism might have been primarily their disgust with religion itself more than disbelief in God and their disbelief in God came after. Celebrity culture is becoming more in full parallel with the culture of religion. At a time if someone was a fan of a particular actor or musician they waited for the new movie or album to come out, attend the movie, buy an album, attend a concert and repeat every few years. Today, due to instagram, snapchat, 24/7 MSM(which is a form of social media) the actor or musicians entire life(whether real or fabricated) is on display for their 'followers'. Their 'followers' may have the same tendicies as disciples. Celbrity culture is sickening. Why do adults insist on high fiving or tapping the shoulder of a ball player coming of the court or field? Who wants to put their hand on someone who just ran for 60 minutes straight? Why in concerts do people fight for the front row to touch the hand of the singer or band member?

Back to social media. Our young and vulnerable have essentially full unblocked access to instagram and snap chat. This has created a second reality in society thst serves no positive purpose as it continues to pervert social norms. Whether following the lifestyles of the few and famous or following their 'friends' internet life.

Is the animal called social media going to become a beast that is out our control but our minds will have become too warped to realise our own damage?

Any opinions?
