Personally, I think it encourages the wrong behaviour, with certain members posting polls and answering questions that are a complete waste of their (and our) time. In my opinion!
Just set up polls and ask questions that are meaningful, thought through, and of genuine interest to you and this community.

I understand that they're trying to motivate people to use this place, but it should be more organic.
What if you just do your thing, and forget about the point system ?
I post if I have something relevant to say-usually current events - I am a bit of a political news junkie.

You get super powers as you gain AP levels. But you can't tell people if they aren't ready, or it may make them sick and die.

I'm not privy to that information (I believe it is level 8, but you will have to ask her, and if she tells you, turn her in.).
There are lots of ways for you to earn points so your level will increase. Take a look at the "Levels" page at [agnostic.com] for more details. The points/level system is just a way to help us reward active members by giving more access and perks to members as they increase their level.
Don't get too hung up on the points/levels as they are mostly just a way for us to keep scammers away. Thanks for the question! You can read more on the FAQ page (see link at the bottom of every page).
