I know I might take some shit for this, but I'm watching the Billboard Music Awards and something a couple of the artists said reminded me of a post a guy on here made today about "feminazis". This isn't the same topic and I'm not comparing the two artists to "feminazis". It just reminded me of it.

Taylor Swift came on the stage and said she is currently touring. She also mentioned that it's an "All Female Tour". Then Ciara came on stage and said she's only working with female artists and producers etc. on her new album.

I just wanted to know what people think about what they are doing and what they said on national tv. Don't you see at least a tiny bit of hypocrisy there?

The one thing that hasn't been mentioned.......Taylor Swift isn't taking girls out of high school or poor neighborhoods or bar performers struggling to make ends meet and letting them open for her. She has an "All Female Tour" with 2 established opening acts already. Charlie XCX and Camila Cabello. They are already established in the business and on the charts for years now. It's all lip service. I bet all her dancers have already been with her since she started. It's not like she's adding any new talent that nobody has seen before. I don't know who Ciara will be working with, but I'm betting they are already established in the business already too.

Discrimination is discrimination - why would someone brag about it?

Not in the least. I don't think many of this women would have the opportunity to gain experience in the music industry otherwise.

I don't doubt there is discrimination towards women in the music industry, but when females actively exclude males, I see that as hypocritical. They don't want females to be discriminated against, but then they will announce they will only work with females etc.

Well brother... what's our opinion matter?... it's just going to piss those ladies off that say it's about time..... some of them probably don't give a shit... What got me is Janet saying God made it all possible. You willing to get labeled for a comment?

I don't care. I speak my mind. If I think something is wrong I will say it. If someone wants to be hypocritical when it comes to something like this then I don't really care about being in their circle. Women do get discriminated on, but at the same time actively excluding men seems hypocritical to me. I'm not calling them "feminazis" or any other names. I'm sure some women reading this will call me a misogynist asshole or whatever. That's their bias and misunderstanding though. If they can't have an honest conversation without resorting to name calling or putting me in a box, then that's on them. They don't seem too open minded and seem to have knee jerk reactions whenever some criticism comes that way. If a female can have an open conversation and actually see the opposite view point, then I am more open to them. That's how we would get something to change maybe. If they want to call any criticism misogynistic etc., then they are just as bad as the men who actively discriminate towards women.

@Piece2YourPuzzle. Well sure.... it's ok to vent... some of what you say ma kn es since. It ain't going to stop those that are looking for an opportunity to make a statement... I get them coming at me too...

@BucketlistBob I hear ya.

Yes! I know they are trying to right a wrong, but they are not doing it correctly, in my opinion. I wait hopefully for the day when people are hired and paid according to their merit.

@Crimson67 So when you see all males working together, do you ask the same question?

@Piece2YourPuzzle All male groups , in all kinds of settings, are so commonplace , they are barely noticed. Not bad or good - just is. There needn't be an issue with women creating all women groups now and then either... doesn't mean they're excluding men - just means there's a preference, or need at that time. Chill.

@Crimson67 It is possible, not probable. All men teams have been the norm, unfortunately, but making the same mistake in reverse is not the answer.

@evergreen It doesn't mean they're excluding men? The hypocrisy here is out of control lol

Chill yourself.

Nope, I don't.
