animals... seeing cute doggies walking by on the street or videos or pics of cute pets and getting to pet soft pets... also junk food including chocolate, chips, etc. Also, being left tf alone when I am out and about going to work or running errands and not being street harassed. 🙂

Beekeeping give me joy. It's very zen. Sometimes I just sit near the hives and study bee-havior.

Talking with members of my bee club is joyful. As a group, beekeepers are gentle, helpful and among the very nicest people I've met.

Sex sex and more sex. Wine and a great documentary or movie. The great outdoors.. being around animals..travel...laughing..joking.

These days, very little. Sorry, I just pay too much attention to what is going on in the world, while it lasts.

Winning the lottery jackpot.

I have a student who is interested in Norse Mythology. I only had a few titles in our library for him. Then, a few days ago, I came across a really nice book on Norse Mythology, and I bought it for the library. The next morning, I processed it quickly (barcode, computer record, etc) because Johnny was scheduled to be in for class that morning. When I saw him, I said, "Johnny, I have something you might be interested in." You should have seen his face! His eyes lit up, his jaw dropped, he hugged the book to his chest. He was thrilled.

That brings me joy. The power to be a part of a young person's thirst for knowledge, the ability to scratch a learning itch, to know that I've made a positive impact no matter how small.

The wonders of the natural world.

My dog excited to go outside, the smile of a homeless person eating a hot meal, riding my bike down highway 1, my grandson, saying hello to every person I pass at the grocery store.

Music. Reading. Learning and talking with interesting people.

Animals, especially young animals and children. They exude pure beauty, unspoiled and undamaged by "civilization"...

Good question.

I find the wonder and joy in life. The infinite pleasure in the touch of a hand, the joy of tasting a juicy, ripe peach. Intense, playful and passionate, I have fun every day.

I love hiking to high alpine lakes surrounded by white glaciers and jagged mountain peaks. After dark, I look up and feel awed by the glowing Milky Way and billions of sparkling stars. We all need more low-level ecstasy in our lives.

My daughter Claire, 28, is getting married in September. Claire invited me to help her pick out a wedding dress. I felt thrilled and honored. She chose the wedding dress I loved the most. It was a joyful, touching experience.

Very simple things.
I love observing the human condition in all its glory and debasement.
