Like @nvrnuff I’m getting a bit disenchanted with this site, and for many of the same reasons. Too many meaningless posts just to get points. Far too much preaching to the choir. Too many meme posts, that I’ve already seen umpteen times and maybe long ago on Facebook (points again?).
Don’t get me wrong - I’ve made a few precious and personal contacts in the short time I’ve been here. But then again, I’ve made far more on Facebook.
It’s not my intent to big up Facebook, far from it. But do we need another. I thought Agnostic was going to be a different thing, something new, but honestly it’s little more than same old same old. I’ve personally posted very little. I’ve commented quite a bit, but I just didn’t want to join the posting mania that seems to go on. I’m a good responder and joiner inner though. There are Facebook (there, I’ve mentioned it again) atheist/agnostic/etc groups, where the actual discussion and debate is much more lively and less diluted with extraneous filler.
I’m not quitting yet, as I don’t feel that the time I’ve been here is enough to decide that. But at the moment, quitting is on the rail and leading by a head. 😥

Two words:. Cambridge Analytica.
Maybe you should disclose how much fakebook stock you own.

It's what you make of it here. I just skip over posts that don't interest me. I got to Level 7 without even trying. You can also follow people or join groups that focus on the topics you prefer. Don't forget that this is also a relatively new site and doesn't have even the minimal percentage of members compared to Facebook.

I find this far superior to FB in terms of overall quality of discourse but admittedly have not checked out atheist or agnostic groups there. Something about FB turns me off. I'm on it at all mainly because it's the only way my adult daughter will interact.

Unfollow 200 people.

FB could never compete with Agnostic.com. From what I've seen there's nary a member of the 'Under a Hundred Club' here.

If you are going, go.

Hmm. I sense someone who has difficulties with views and/or thoughts other than or contrary to her own.

@KevinTwining hmm I sense a little passive aggressive vibe. You may certainly have all the opinions you like, that's what we're here for. I'm just saying if you don't like the site leave, no need to announce it unless you feel you need some sort of validation.

I know what you mean about "filler", but the site is for entertainment as well as discussion, and if you find the right threads, or people to talk to, then you can take the discussion where you want it to be. Personally, enjoy this site much more than facebook, because I don't have to put up with all the relegious crap and all the repetition.

I suppose it’s the filler I most object to. And I think it’s the points thing that drives a lot of it. A good idea with unexpected consequences. And that could have been expected, given some well known aspects of human nature and behaviour.

Most of the members love these pathetic meaningless posts . There is one guy on here who will get 50 comments if he says he just puked all over himself

Maybe I should try that one ?

These are things that happen when you interact with others and they actually like you. I do understand that is a foreign concept to some.

Damn I missed the self-puke

Yeah..I'm planning to switch to Facebook dating when I get back to the US since it's more like a meetup with benefits..letting real people meet at local events of common interest.

Not sure if this is true or sarcasm - the ambiguity of the printed word.

I was on zoosk which is owned by facebook. Fake profiles getting you to sign up. Got off in three months. Now facebook is announcing another site. We'll see but I am very skeptical.

@KevinTwining It's a cool new concept Zuckerberg is unveiling:
