This photo represents duality in America. Prior to 1967, interracial marriage was illegal and before 2015, same-gender marriage was illegal in the United States. Peer review research has consistently proven that societal religiosity is the main purveyor of homophobia in this country. Love is love—no matter the color of your skin, gender or sexual orientation. Happy Pride Month

Gay or straight love is great. Black or white love is right.

It's not just , to be honest. It's right wing media that is doing most of the work because they buy off statisticians to publish studies that accuse LGBT people of crimes, and they publish news stories to make people angry with them.

Love, love, love this picture. I was born in 1958 in small town Nebraska. My uncle (dad's brother) went to Japan during the Korean war and come home with a Japanese bride. I always thought that was normal. When later I was told that marrying "colored" (ie anyone non white) was wrong I laughed at them. I had no clue that was an issue until middle or HS. I had a few years of believing that homosexuality was wrong, but gradually realized that people are. You love who you love. My Japanese aunt was instrumental in that education. She was the most fascinating person I ever met and the most open. When I was growing up sex was not talked about, and she was happy to talk about it. In the past few years with my kids I have been educated that people are not binary as I was taught growing up. Sexuality is not binary, there are many variations, and you love who you love. I think if we spend more time loving other people instead of trying to stick them in boxes and behave certain ways we'd be a healthier society.
