From my notebook:

A two parter from Steven Weinberg, athiest, Nobel Prize winner in physics

1."Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."
2."Whatever one thinks of the Muslims who blow themselves up in crowded cities in Europe or Israel or fly planes into buildings in the US, who could dispute that the certainty of their faith had something to do with it.

Great note! But, please, don't forget that muslims were not the first religious terrorists, and they are not the only ones. Just read (if you can stomach it) 1 Samuel, chapter 15, in the bible. And never forget the crusaders, the witch hunters, the inquisitors, the Spanish christians who "discovered" the "new world".....

With all due respect, the comment is about faith, not Muslims. Please reread the entire two part post. Weinberg even includes a disclaimer.
