This law was passed because innocent people were being held liable for accidents (especially with rear end scammers) because they jumped out of their cars after an accident and unthinkingly said "I'm sorry." Well, only if he loses would I envision that as a possibility. Before the election, I can imagine him canceling it if there was some obvious excuse for canceling it and he thought he might lose. In either case I still think it's a damned unlikely scenario at this point. The oligarchs and generals running America NEED elections to maintain the pretense that we're still a democracy. People might actually notice and object to an overt dictatorship.

Druvius comments on Dec 23, 2019:
I'm in favor of the death penalty when the crime is unspeakable and the guilt is unimpeachable. IE the Ted Bundys should be executed just as a matter of public safety. And in a perfect world, those would be the only cases. We don't live in a perfect world, and humans do not appear capable of limiting the DP to such cases. So no, life imprisonment is all I support; then if someone is mistakenly convicted, at least some redress is possible.

Zimmerman gathered a group of pilgrims and made plans to go to America to welcome Jesus back to Earth. However, he died in February of that year, on the very day of departure. Johannes Kelpius took over leadership of the cult, which was known as Woman in the Wilderness, and they completed their journey to the New World. Fall came and went and, needless to say, the cultists were profoundly disappointed at having traveled all the way across the Atlantic just to be stood up by Jesus. (Cohen p.19-20)
