From a CBS News station based in Florida (tried to use left-leaning progressive news sources here, but it appears so few of such outlets carried the following story, but at least CBS covered it). Looks like Florida Governor DeSantis received some support from an unlikely source, Leon County District 1 Commissioner Bill Proctor called the proposed AP African American History course (the one rejected by the State Department of Education) "incomplete" and "trash". Having taught African American history himself, he had called the college board’s curriculum on the matter “incompetent”.

Now, that's from someone who had once taught African American history, and think there might be a good reason why Mr. Proctor said what he said, which should be taken into deeper consideration before accusations of racism are thrown around. Society sure could use more rational and intelligent people like Proctor who refuse to let emotions cloud their judgment.
