Rebecca Mastriano and Julie Green are both working hard to motivate Christian Nationalists in Pennsylvania to elect Republican Doug Mastriano as the state's next governor.
They have also both recently cited the same bible passage: Book of Revelation, Chapter 3, verses 8-9, which reads:
"I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept my word, and have not denied my name. Behold, I will cause those of the Synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie. I will make them come and bow down at your feet."
In the book of Revelation, these are supposed to be the words of Jesus himself. So much for being the Prince of Peace. Jesus was in this bible verse the Prince of Intolerance.
Mastriano and Green attempted to simultaneously signal their followers of their antisemitism and conceal it to outsiders, by citing the first part of this bible passage and leaving the second part silent, but both are quite familiar with the Christian bible, one being a professional Christian chaplain and the other being a self-appointed Christian prophet.
This comes in the context of the Mastriano for Governor campaign working with Andrew Torba, who provided a Nazi white supremacist platform on which the guy who killed 11 Jews at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh spread the news of his slaughter.
This same bible verse was also referred to by Billy Graham in two separate audio-recorded conversations with President Nixon in 1972 and 1973, in which Billy Graham said that Hitler was right about Jews being evil and Nixon commented that Jews don't deserve to live.
Non-Christian Americans need to be aware of this: When Christian Nationalists refer to Revelation chapter 3 verse 8, it's a dog whistle of Nazi ideology through the antisemitism of Revelation chapter 3 verse 9.
