Getting my HAM license is something that I want to do. As soon as school is out for the summer I want to get started. I have 2 handhelds but am truly the newbiest newbie. My local group doesn't hold a class to prepare for the test. My first question is do I need the in person class or is the online class sufficient?

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Online class can get you your first license, but getting with a local club will help with getting you on the air. You should search for affiliate clubs who hold classes and then attend one. It is a great hobby.
