Have you considered Saskatchewan as well? There is a fairly large Indian/Canadian community in Saskatchewan. Also check out the CBC TV series on You Tube - Corner Gas, a humorous look at life on the Prairie in Canada.

@William77 Corner Gas was a very popular TV show in Canada and rather informative in a passive/aggressive sort of way, something that Canadians are famous for. A Prairie Winter is going to be a huge shock to someone coming from Bangalore, India but it is survivable. I'm a 9th generation Canadian but spent several decades living and working abroad in tropical regions so I know what it feels like to go from the tropics to northern climes. As the Boy Scouts say 'Be Prepared"
I've lots of family in Manitoba though I don't live there now. I can tell you about the perpetual wind, brutal winters, equatorial summers, and predatory insects though. (-: When do you plan to move to MB and why?

@DeeTee As you no doubt know, in Canada, folks come and go for reasons of work, school, and family; rarely because of the wx, which is ranges from bad to dreadful in most places much of the time. Oh, I forgot about the floods: the Red and Assiniboine can be counted on for a disastrous flood every year or two. Filling sand bags is what neighbours do to bond and exchange gossip instead of bridge or golf.
