Yes, Christian Nationalism IS Christian
There's a problem we need to confront: Progressive Christians want to confront Christian Nationalism while at the same time insisting that Christian Nationalists are not actually Christians.
They're doing this in order to avoid dealing with the many consistent sources of bigotry, violence, and other forms of domination within Christianity.
Whenever a Christian does something offensive, they're labeled a "fake Christian", and therefore, there is never anything wrong with Christianity.
We need to call out this dishonest tactic, because it ends up actually providing more cover for the problems within Christianity that fuel Christian Nationalism.

And yet, this afternoon on Twitter, the hashtag #FakeChristians is trending.
Every day, Christian Nationalists prominently expose the moral flaws of Christian theology... and instead of confronting these flaws, progressive Christians avoid the subject by calling Christian Nationalists "fake Christians".
@CliffordCook Well, this progressive Christian calls them evil misguided Christians. "No true Scotsman" arguments are just a cop out.
