I can appreciate that - itβs much better than going to the grocery store to have a heart to heart chat with the check out clerk
When that happens, I "check out" mentally
It's hard for me to find any meaning in those kinds of day-to-day interactions. I try not to be a dick, but the person's on the job. We're not going to be friends or share anything meaningful. In an hour, I'm not even going to remember it. I don't understand people who think that's a place to strike up a conversation or flirt.
@Improbability
I donβt look for βmeaningβ in those encounters, just a bit of interaction with a breathing person
@Improbability - anything is possible if you're open to it.
I'm pretty friendly with brief casual conversations with people I barely know, but when they start going into detail about their second cousin's trip to Knotts Berry Farm, I check out. Cause I DON'T CARE!
