I know a lot of self-described conservatives and generally speaking, they're not really conservative. But, they're greedy.

One of the most dangerous things that most of them appear to believe is simply their belief that might makes right, including the belief that those who are tolerant, respectful, and willing to compromise with those on the other side are WEAK and inferior to the warrior types that Trumper, fascist, reactionaries revere. This makes peaceful coexistence, pluralism, or multiculturalism in our society impossible. And I am getting fed up enough with how they are harming our government and culture in America that I support letting them secede or set up their own separate country of fascism, if that's what they seem to want. I will gladly move one state away from my current home if necessary to flee their idiotic politics.

Not sure your assertions define conservatives. They define an ultra right- wing radical nationalism spurred on in trumpism. Conservative purists don’t have That radical edge. Though obviously there is some overlap

Perhaps some of the most "dangerous, wrong or false beliefs" that conservatives have are what they think of or attribute to liberals.

Both "sides" need to bear in mind that political views in America are more of a scattergram than a line. Democracy requires compromises based on finding common ground.

• what bothers me in general is that conservatives seem to think that they are defending capitalism/free markets/property rights. This is terrifying. They are not doing this.
• what bothers me more specifically is that conservatives seem to oppose action on climate change largely because such action will involve government regulations and carbon taxes and the conservatives seem to think these things are anti-capitalistic. In fact they are pro-capitalistic.

Anyway, those are pet points, but there they are.

What type of conservative are we talking about here? Fiscal conservatives, social ones, or both? I'm fiscally conservative, but not socially conservative though. No shortage of baseless stereotypes against right-leaning individuals these days, then again both political extremes excel at hurling said stereotypes at each other. Not all conservatives are extreme, just as sure as not all liberals are extreme. We've come to a point in America where the two political views no longer care about truly understanding the other side, it's become all about one's own views and rushing to conclude the other side is the villain.

The post certainly generated discussion. I voted 90% but only if the conservatives we're talking about are from the U.S., only watch fox, oann, newsmax and listen to conservative talk radio. This is the conservative group I have the most experience with.

I don’t self identify politically based on labels. I pursue my interests, as I see them, politically and economically. That being said, I think most people feel first and think second: the brain is the servant of the emotions— whether the topic is politics or “ spirituality” or anything else. Few have the self-discipline, insight and perspective to achieve rationality.

There's a difference between conservatives and fringe alt-right. That's like saying Josef Stalin was a liberal.

The answers more often I find better in the middle grounds. These extreme conflicts don't get us working together. It's about divide and conquer by the wealthy and more for them, less for us.

Any such Conservatives against "Thought Think." is a reasonable concern. Sadly many on every 'side' don't realize they are being influenced by such.
People have been rightly worried about such since the 50's

From what I have read, seen and heard, they're all stupid as Rocks.
They believe that Sticks and Stones are their God.

That an egg is a child. That we will evolve stronger if we expose ourselves to toxicity. That those that can not compete should die off. That small government = responsible stewardship ( except for almost 20 years of nuclear testing, agent orange, Love Canal, DDT was sans government regulation). That one should be able to contaminate others. That the rich should become more so thru a lack of taxation & profit sharing.. That some folks are just not evolved as others, but any port in a storm. That gays are deviant but trafficing in children isn't. That my god should be your god or else. That shooting projectiles into animals is sport.
