Not a good day today. Grief just seems to come out of nowhere sometimes and knock me right on my ass. This was taken the day he came home from the hospital for the last time. Our dogs were so happy to see him.

I lost a good friend last evening. His wife has embarked on her journey of grief now. I wish I had some words but having been through that myself just a short 4 years ago I know there are no words now. RIP Mr. Douse.

Does the weather affect your grief? Now that the weather's turned cold, and especially today while we're having an ice storm, I just absolutely ache for his presence. I keep looking at his chair, hoping he'll materialize. This sucks.

It is no special day, nothing interesting happened, it is no anniversary of anything. Tonight the veil between going insane with the painful waves of grief and staying sane and reasonable are very thin. It's so hard to breathe. 08-17-17
