@FrayedBear The second option is to go to the grave in the same condition as that in which you were born. I have actually changed quite a bit since then. I think everybody has.
@Coffeo Unless dying age 21 you have no chance of that. It's all downhill from 21. The degree of downhill varies from person to person but even wannabe Peter Pans like Jane Fonda or Cher eventually succumb to ageing.

I wouldn't equate a battered body with living life to the full. Our bodies break down and die, that's just how it is. We can try to look after ourselves despite this knowledge anyway. I feel that that is what we should do. Living life to the full really depends on resources to do things, not battering ourselves. I guess I see a false equivalence here.
I'm not advocating masochism & self inflicted deliberate damage. Anyone who has participated in sport know how "accidents" result in injury.
