Back to the future.
All Australian states owned and operated power generation at one time. Then they were privatised to increase competition thus reducing prices for consumers. That failed.
Looks like we are embracing socialism again regarding power grids, in Victoria at least..........good. Private enterprise showed how short sighted they are when chasing profits and failed to maintain the infrastructure. Perhaps the UK may start getting their essential utilities back under government control as well.

Good. Should never have been privatised.

Nor the CBA, QANTAS, Rail etc
Now we enjoy toll roads.

That is essentially what governments are for, to rebalance market forces should they turn on the public.

Australia is not densely populated away from capital cities. To ensure all have access to communications economically, not worth installing and maintaining long distance infrastructure as not enough customers. So private enterprise was never going to work for all.
