Economic Update: Capitalism's Unemployment Problem

Capitalism's recurring unemployment problem was never solved and makes the system fundamentally unstable. Today's high levels of unemployment are hugely costly in both human and financial terms. On this week's episode we analyze why capitalism prepares so poorly for and then endures its recurring unemployment. We also examine several alternatives to unemployment that would serve society better but threaten capitalism.

I was on vacation 2 weeks ago. Went back to be notified last week my company is reducing my hours to approximately 32 hours a week. It's kind of hard to be precise in reducing my hours in this manor as scrap hauler. Time I can't control at customers, flat tires/equipment breakdowns, traffic in our yards I dump at and so on.I manged to get 38. But what us company drivers don't get are outsourced to independent companies and or drivers. I get Mondays off now also. They basically forced the Garn division out of Wooster to take 3 days off in vacation days a couple of weeks ago.

Wolff expresses a lot of good points in this, but to address one aspect with him. Where is AOC, the squad, and other progressives who speak about the green deal? I would imagine if we had the Green Party in power right now they'd be vastly attempting to expanding programs for training towards implementing the technology and application of windmills and solar panels? woops----and he goes into that---sorry.

When he's talking about worker co-ops it also encourages a work place trading ops to get people closer to home rather than drive long distances each day saving the environment and worker cost. Something I've often thought about in the world according to William.
