Something else,
Titanic did not split with the stern going way up in the air. The bow section is sitting on the bottom in fairly decent shape(or it was when it was found),the stern section is about a 1/4 mile away and smashed all to hell. Titanic had a expansion joint between the 3rd and 4th funnel that went down to E-deck. With the help of modern tech it has been discovered that the expansion joint got stretched out first, pulling the ship apart, and then squeezed back together before separating and going down. The bow went mostly straight down while the stern went around in circles spewing debris all over the bottom which explains why the debris field is so big. It was a design flaw, the expansion joint ended at E deck in a point, which compromised Titanic's hull. It's been shown on a dive to Britannic that her expansion joint is rounded off, which means somebody somewhere knew Titanic's expansion joint was weak.
That's very interesting. Thank you. Titanic's expansion joints are strange things...
I'm a little obsessed, if you couldn't tell
