Harland and Wolfe knew Titanic's steel was brittle in the cold, and there is proof( not what they knew, but that the steel got brittle). Olympic was skewered in the ass by the HMS Hawke's 53 ft. ram. The pictures of the damage show clearly where the steel is broken and not twisted or bent.
