I'm the host for Gun Control Now group, and I will be breaking out of here soon, to take my message to the masses, so to speak. Would you guys mind giving me a few pointers?

Do lots of study on youtube about YouTube. Make sure your channel banner is great. Have an introductory video on your channel page. Study you titles, description, and tags for channel and videos. I have noticed that much of my competition (Chirstian channels) are lacking in this area. My response videos often show up before theirs even if they are a much larger channel. I have two freinds that do thier videos on an I phone and I pad and produce great quality work even with the microphones with their devices. There are many apps they use to help with sound quality, and video presentation. I made a few videos of things like my daughter at the beach with her dog just to practice at first. Much of it is getting over the fear of doing it and just making yourself do it. I had no idea of what I was doing when I started and had never even seen editing software! Just jump in!

Btw Welcome and ask away. This is what this group is about. When you ask a question there are others that are probably wondering the same things!

Thank you very much, I'm not going to get anywhere on a gun control group with 250 members, I've got to take it to the next level. Go to live people and get away from just the written word, i'll never change anything if I stay here.

@MikeFlora I will be honest with you. I probably disagree with many of your positions on the First Admendment. I do support you 100% in having your voice heard. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help! Also let me know how you progress!

@DavidLaDeau 2nd amendment, first is free speech. thank you for helping me.

Can you be more specific? What kind of content are you looking to make? What equipment are you using to record? Give me something to work with, here.

That's my point, how do I get started, I don't have anything. What do I need?

@MikeFlora I've had pretty good luck with my Samsung Galaxy S8, and a cheap tripod.

You don't need anything super expensive on the recording side. Youtube has some free video editing tools that are ok when you're first starting out.

Really, you just need to record a few 5 or 10 minute videos and then watch them, see if there's anything obvious that needs to be improved. I imagine there are plenty of tutorials on youtube on how to make a good amateur video that would explain it better than I can.

Getting the right lighting, the right speaking cadence, and making a video that people want to watch are the biggest things.

@slayer1am Thanks, I've already noticed I talk to fast.

@MikeFlora Upload the video, but set it to play at 3/4 speed by default.

@slayer1am is that to slow me talking down
