@powder to some extent. Here, though, we have someone who thinks a universal truth has been exposed, when it's just the misery of an artist broadened into a universal philosophy that goes counter to what people actually feel. For example I'm extremely happy, the result of my relationship with my wife. It's totally natural and we were designed, through evolution, to be happy with a partner that we are very compatable with. That happiness contributes and arguably could be considered vital to our survival as a species.

When the being shitty is quite literally at a 10:1 ratio I think you can shove that justification right out the window. Not being shitty right back, not calling out shitty behavior when it happens, and not shouting about shitty behavior from the rooftops after it's happened is why it's such a fucked up ratio. *Both* sexes have to do it to each other as well as themselves. @Rob1948 suuurrrre. Anywho, your first comment indicated extreme binary thinking implying that it was cool for one sex to bash another while it in fact isn't. I mean, that's rather limited, reactionary thinking and that just brings out the very best in me. But that brings me to the real problem, which is - on the whole - men are much shittier to women then women are to men (please, don't be dumb enough to ask for stats). Its definetly a 2 way street, but the womens side has far fewer lanes and a much lower speed limit. So men actually *do* deserve the lions share of the being bitched about and made fun of. We fucking *earned* it and sure as shit need to own it before it'll ever get better for both sexes. So that's why.

@Moravian I have a hard time believing the owners lose money. A very hard time, unless the tax structure maxes that possible to lose here but make it up somewhere else - in which case they aren't actually losing money but get to look like they do. The rich are the same all over the world. You almost make it sound like the owners are providing a public service at considerable expense, akin to bread and circuses. The salaries go through the owners - they're the ones who collect the ticket prices and own the tv rights.

Imagine if Wal-Mart employees had a union that forced Wal-Mart to pay its employees from a pool of money based on a % of Wal-Mart's revenue (as pro sports does) instead of minimum wage, and those employees went from $20,000.00 per year to $200,000.00 a year. Caretaker mistakes him for a snapping turtle and puts him in the exhibit where he's trapped. No one notices, but rumors of the reptile house being haunted run rampant because his pitiful wailing is heard in the dead of night.

What I do know is that I was able to take everything I learned from that relationship, good and bad, and apply those lessons to my current relationship - and it's fantastic. People tend to do the same things over and over, even how they meet other people. We all fall into predictable patterns and unfortunatly a behavior that provides a modest amount of success will often be the "go to" strategy, even though a better way may exist. Basically, were idiots. I checked our match and another site for about 3 weeks - call them profile mines - before i dumped them. The format here is much better for finding someone, imo (well duh).
