@brentan no, my perspective is the only one I can go by. I'm trying like hell to get yours, but being circumspect from my perspective just seems to mean you won't answer with anything of substance. I'm beginning to think there is none. So right from who's perspective? The actors obviously think what they did was right or they wouldn't have done it. I dont think it was wrong, I think it was stupid.

Just watching 2nd marriage go down the toilet, thinking, really?
MaxPower comments on Apr 18, 2019:
I still believe marriage licenses should be renewable. Lawyers would be minimum wage. Even 4 year renewals would cut divorce and spousal murder rates down. Its too bad "god" choose trump instead of me to lead this nation.
1of5 replies on Apr 18, 2019:
@MaxPower just make a prenup mandatory to get a licence. Most of the things in a divorce revolve around kids, property, and money, which could be spelled out in a prenup. Dissolving the liscense is the easy part (at least in Washington state, where mine was dissolved). To me renewing it is just another tax to be paid, and what happens if it lapses for some reason? Say one partner is battling cancer and the other is more worried/taking care of their partner and they just don't have the time or energy to do it? Marriage is annulled automatically and suddenly the partner doesn't have the rights of a spouse, plus insurance coverage might change. I cant see this as a solution to anything.
Umm, yeah.

A church quotes god outside of verses in the Bible... Aren't there rules in the book against such things? If I'm right, could someone point me to the specific verses?

I'd guess that at least 3/4 of biblical rules have 5 to 10 exemptions to them, each, so pointing out a single rule is a waste of time.

I'm not impressed by someone who needs a gun in Starbucks (for example) to feel adequately protected, and tend to think there's an underlying mental issue (though not a serious issue) with the individual.

@josh_is_exciting since they seem to be happening everywhere (in the U.S., which should be a clue) we should be worried about them everywhere. Not entirely sure what point you're trying to make.

Argh. I dont care what stripe of whatever religion someone is, I don't want them making policy from a religious angle, no matter how good it sounds.
1of5 replies on Apr 9, 2019:
@MsAl what he's doing should be being done by religious leaders, not political ones, and some are actually doing that. This is a religious issue and it should remain one. When religion and politics are blended together both come out worse off. If we tie liberal ideas to religion what's been accomplished, except to strengthen that religions hold on the government - like the current GOP is so handily demonstrating.

So, as with most proposals, the devil is in the details. What would they be allowed to do to gain levels? Personally I'd like to see it restricted to posting 1/2 of your levels in links per day. Also, and I know some people don't like this, but if multiple people are posting the same link combine them into a single post so there isn't 5 posts of the same link. Oh, and just ban FB links all together.
