Evolutionary changes played a crucial role in industrialization, study finds

This sounds like a discussion that we had following the 50's and 60's. Greater economic opportunity for segments of society (predominantly white America), brought about a trend of young couples and young prefessionals to delay having children until later in their lives. Newly found income had ...

I read a study within the last year about how the universe, as it exits adolescence (another few billion years or so), will be much more conductive (i.e. less violent and more stable) to the formation of complex, intellegent life. It's all conjecture, of course, but something has to be 1st. It could very well be us. That's not to say life isn't forming elsewhere, just that it's not what we recognise as both intelligent and technologically advanced.

@grammy playing the martyr card is very unbecoming. The state is allowing it to find its own levels. It's called competition and it sounds like you didn't prepair for it. For the first time in your career you don't have a captive customer base to exploit and seem pissed they're exercising their options. Good for them. Your not forced to buy anything from the stores and should probably keep growing your own if you don't like what's being sold. If the stores are selling crap then you should have a market of people who don't want to buy shitty weed and will pay for it. I have a couple friends that just won't buy from stores for a couple reasons no matter the price. I can tell you I'd much rather go to a store and get just what I want instead of having to take only what the grower decides I'll get - if they aren't out, that is. Should they change the laws? Probably. But that's not going to keep big money out of the market because there's big money to be made there. No form of legalization will prevent that.

@altschmerz according to the article it's actually difficult to milk the cockroach (boy does that ever sound dirty) so yeast would be modified to produce it. It really is nice to have. I've got a group of friends I can't wait to get back too, and we can talk all night and the supernatural never comes up. I consider myself extremely lucky to have them in my life. Hope you find a couple fairly soon. Good luck.

@Rustee hunting up him *and* his ex seems like something you should disclose to him, nonetheless. *I like to do as much research as I can before even agreeing or suggesting that we meet F2F, and this one man apparently had an affair while married to his second wife. That is according to what I uncovered when I found her during my search* That sounds like a bit more than just looking them up on FB, so forgive me for taking you at your word. I'm not saying don't check them out. I'm saying tell him that you did. It's his past, and it really is his right to disclose it to you when he feels comfertable doing so.

If she's going to try to have a relationship with this guy he's entitled to know about her, too, including her extensive background checks - from what i can figure out from reading this, she doesn't trust that someone will tell the truth about their history (probably justified), and he needs to know it. So he should know that whatever answer he gives she's most probably going to dig into his past to either verify it or already know the answer too. Some of what she's done strikes me as a violation of privacy. Trust is the most importaint thing in a relationship, and if she doesn't let him know about her research she's violating his trust. If a woman told me she did this instead of asking me up front about it I couldn't have a serious relationship with her.

Oh it's definitely both. Only way it wouldn't be is if everyone on both sides opted out. But I can post something from humanist and it showes up on both, and it appears that people opted out from their end can see it and respond but I just can't see the response. Havent done testing on it to confirm and won't - I can use the same account on both portals at the same time just using multiple tabs. I'm worried about breaking something if I opt out using the same account on both sites at the same time. Could be a fun experiment if I'm in a really bad mood someday. ? You definitely can't see someone's profile if they've opted out, but still get alerts if you're members of the same group (that's what made me look into this a bit further). Some groups aren't available, not sure exactely why but suspect the group originator opted out. You can see them in the group listings, however, just can't enter them.

@KKGator but, see, it doesn't work. Today is the 1st time i logged on through agnostic instead of humanist. I get it was a failed experiment, was disappointed when I discovered it was just another way to log on here, and really shouldn't be surprised that the settings don't work as advertised. It did seem to work in groups, but doesn't seem to work in the general forums. Why they don't redirect from humanist to agnostic is a mystery for admin to ignore.

Unfortunately you are, though. It uses the same data base as agnostic, and from what i can tell you can only block your stuff from appearing to people on humanist, but can't block their stuff from appearing on agnostic - unless you block them individually. We interacted a bit while i was accessing through the other portal, btw. So far i havent seen a way to determine whos coming through which portal to the database, and not really careing much to find out at this point. I'm more interested in why people block their stuff from appearing there. Just because, I guess.
