I day say if you look back in history you will find some on both sides of the pond that said in 1776 "America can become a nation but it is not ready for it yet"

As it happens, plan "A" was we were to get the last train home at 10.30 but he was so damn good I said, "I'm staying". I ended up in a pub lock-in with the bar staff and Nick till the next morning.

The man is such a hypocrite. His blog was full of hearsay and vague "proofs" ie "a museum in Montana" not siting which one but it only took a few clicks to find it. He went on about the truth and idiots who disregard it. Then when I msgd him pointing out a falsehood he said that he would post a correction but did not. The blocked me and deleted my findings regarding all the bs he is spouting, backed up with real facts.
We know that those guys would not last 5 mins in the UK without someone calling them out. It is a shame that such a great nation that the USA is, will give them credence

@creative51 Firstly I did not refer to Africa as a whole. My term was "African backwater" Just as one might use the terms Arkansas backwater or South American shantytown. To do so is not to say or imply that all of Arkansas is dumb. Nor that all of S. America is poor. There many intelligent and highly educated people in/from Africa, I should know as I have dated two of them. (Malawi and Nigeria). There is also some very stupid superstitious people there too and they are not confined to specific states or regions. Just like the USA but at least Africans can blame poverty and a poor educational system.

I know that there are many backward ideas still prevalent in the African continent and that it was the perfect simile for what I wanted to express. Not to do so would have been patronizing and in of itself racist. If we refrain from criticism simply so as not to appear racist? We do no favors to anybody. Would you not have a go at Israel, China or Pakistan over their human rights issues because of their ethnic population? To do so would give their govts a free ride.

My father was an atheist too. I can still remember the odd family occasions where our presence was required in the church. He would go down on one knee, bow his head and remain silent as prays were said. He never joined in the hymns or communal prays but did not make a big deal about it. It was HIS respectful silence that makes me so angry at bible thumpers berating me as I walk down the high st and why I berate them back.

He questioned the right of the UK supreme court to rule on the PMs proroguing of parliament. So I asked the same. "Would you feel the same way if Boris`s predecessor May had used similar tactics to force her deal through?"
The courts are one way to keep the executive within the law. Considering how many of Trump associates and former staff members have been convicted. I cannot as an outsider think that this is just fishing. If you cant do the time...

Others from the Torah or the holocaust but there is "Joan of Arc" and some references to Scientology. Mostly though he writes about women.
