Love can come at any age. I am 60 now soon to be 61. I fell head over heals 3 years back. It ended as these things sometimes do. Getting over it is like all injuries, harder when your older. Not love in its classical sense but I am reminded of a ladies diary entries on a hook up site. It went like this: "I am 68, widowed for 10 years and sex was not very much part of our marriage. Now I would like to experience that side of life". About 3 weeks later the post was "WOW"

I see a lot of similar posts by women of all ages. Let me clarify what I deem as the problem Broadly speaking women look for reasons to reject and men reasons to accept. To many of us guys it seems that women think its a used car lot, where you get guarantees like 1500 miles or 1 years free maintenance. In fact its more like ebay. It may look good in the picture but you dont know till you check it out. When you started dating did you say " I want a guy to be committed and lasts?" or did you say "I want a date for the prom?" Think smaller, dream bigger. How about "I want a guy I can cook a meal for and will fix my fence" or "I would like to take a trip to... a companion would be nice". You are still a good looking woman and there are lots of lonely guys out there. They may have a few dents, a lot of miles and smoke comes out of their rear but they will get you where you want to go

Only a mild one. I used to pin my exs hands down at the climax occasionally. This was quite consensual. Only one time during a drunken row did this go further. She really enjoyed it but that side of me was not somewhere I cared to linger on. We had a passionate and often abrasive relationship.

That said, here is a man who has never had to do an honest days toil in his life, never served in the armed forces, has been born into a life of privilege and good health. He has in turn mocked a war veteran, the mother of a fallen veteran, a disabled reporter and now someone who has been sexually abused. I used to think that the nearest lamppost would do but now I really would like to see him in jail. I wonder if he would be that bullish when defending his honor in the showers. "Well miss it has its shore on the Baltic, its government in Moscow and its population in Siberia"

Anecdotal but very personal nevertheless. My daughter and I did not have contact for about the 1st 10 -11 years of her life. Just before her 11th birthday we met for the 1st time since she was 6 months old. We now see each other quite regularly. She shares so many of my characteristics, she is stubborn, funny, slightly lazy and everyone who knows us says how alike we are. As we got to know each other it has been like the nature/nurture debate in real life. Her mum is a wonderful parent. She has been brought up in a loving home. Of course this may have been different had she had harder times but I think much of who she is is me without any input.

Just down the road from me in St Helens there is a huge glass making works called Pilkingtons. They invented and developed a radical way of making plate glass by rolling it out onto liquid metal. This process it how all plate glass is made now. When they got all the kinks ironed out they went to a top team of patent lawyers and they spent 6 months drawing up the patent application. Then Pilkingtons went to another law firm and asked them to find holes in the legal work. After 3 months they came back with about 14 different loop-holes. So it went off to the original law firm to get fixed. Only after about a year of legal work did the glass firm submit their patent. Compare the way this was done to the way we get our laws. So many are ill conceived, reactionary or vested interest based. There should be a team of govt lawyers that draft these things not politicians. How about if the govt went to a top tax firm and paid them to draft dodge proof tax laws? Then the govt could sue them if anyone found a hole in it.
Guys ask why women are so pissed off.
273kelvin comments on Sep 28, 2018:
Not making light of this but rephrase the question. Draw the same line and ask. "What do you do on a daily basis to prevent being assaulted?" Just omit that one word and see the difference. Men are far more likely to be a victim of assault. Not sexual granted but it can and does kill you. When men say that a woman was dressed provocatively, it is not necessarily an accusation. Ask a guy if he would walk into a rival teams bar wearing his home teams shirt? The answer would be "I dont have a death wish". We have to learn from a very early age to deal with violent assault. Never mind puberty, we learn this in kindergarten. Staying in well lite areas, avoiding eye contact, puffing your chest out and straightening up to look more formidable are second nature to us. It is good that men get to know how women have to go though life but it might be beneficial for women to know how we go through life too?

273kelvin comments on Sep 23, 2018:
Only just heard about the case because of this post. it does seem a very political case and if so it`s not a good one. Meaning from a devils advocate point of view and let me say I have met many victims and "me too" is a righteous cause. This case is fishy and will not do the "me too any favours. Not saying it did not happen or that if happened it was okay. What I am saying is this. Why now? A 17 year old guy tries to get the knickers off of a 15 year old girl. Very believable.... prove it. Not easy if it was yesterday but after all this time? So its she said he said and she said it in the press 1st. After all this time, now she comes forward. I assume this guy ran for election to become a judge? Why not then? In a "he said she said" it goes to credibility. Plus with all the money off of the publicity, it looks like a cross between the badger game and Mae Wests saying, "Keep a diary girls because one day it will keep you". We are battling against real cases of child abuse in this country, that may go very high. Unwinnable, politically motivated cases do the victims great harm.

Too many to answer individually so I will add an appendix; Yes she fucked me up. It contributed to nearly a years worth of depression and some thoughts of ending all but as I sat there searching though all the POF black ladies. I realized it was not them that I wanted but her. Now I thought about this rationally. I could sit and be miserable and alone? I could try and find another but all I could see was either out of my league, unsuitable and whole waste of time. Sure there may be one out there but would they want me and how much effort would that take with no guarantees of any success? Or... I could bite the bullet, roll the dice and take my chances. If I am unhappy, if even the good times in my are thinned down by not seeing her? Then wtf, isnt one night of happiness worth it? After a year and a half of no one to hold. no one to touch, no one kiss, no one to massage and no one to love. Cannot I be forgiven for just wanting? And oh boy is she something, talk about sunshine on a cloudy day, sex on legs and any other cliches x 10. It could not let this go without a picture of my tormentor/savior.

Market forces are not a great way to deal with health care. Market forces have less morals than a crack dealer. The latter would not sell their grandmother, the former will ask what the going rate for grandmothers is. The USA spends more per capita on Medicaid for a few than the UK spends on the NHS for universal health care. Obama tried to do something about this but from what I glean it was watered down by big Pharma till it became useless. Ask yourself this. How much of US GDP is spent on health care? What are you getting for your money? How do mortality rates, days lost though illness etc. compare with other counties systems? Add to this the hidden costs. How many go-getters, entrepreneurs or inventors of a better mouse trap etc. Are stuck in a dead-end job because they cant afford to leave the health insurance provided? How much is that costing your country in the long run?

The introduction of Protestantism into the English speaking peoples and subsequently the US. At a time slot relative to where Islam is now (about 1400 years in). With all the factional infighting and bloodshed over dogma . Beautifully written and filmed, a must see.

What is your favorite place you've ever lived?
273kelvin comments on Sep 8, 2018:
I have lived in Liverpool most of my life. Bar a brief stay in London. So this city is my only and best choice. However the question was where is the best place you have lived? That prize has to go to my ex. Sunnyside, a road built into Princes park circa 1835. The park was originally private and the houses part of the development. Now split into flats but with a back garden gate into the park and a frontage that looks out onto a wooded copse. I could look out of my front window and watch the birds and squirrels. Then wake up overlooking the tennis courts and park. No traffic noise yet only 2 1/2 miles from the city center. At one point our house was the Bolivian embassy and I entertained notions that Butch Cassidy may have visited there. I do not miss my ex but I sure do miss that flat.

A very humorous example but it makes the point of an a-political civil service. It is the executive and legislator who make laws (with the mandate of the people). The Judiciary to interpret said laws (in the US also mandated by election of judges and peoples advocates eg DAs). It is not the job of an un-elected civil service to interfere.Their job is implementation. https://youtu.be/cIYfiRyPi3o
Only 2 movies were ever made about Vincent, this movie is so awesome.

As you see it, tell me how writing about every day things can be appealing to read

Its the way you tell it. I remember being captivated by a French poet recalling the time spent waiting for the washing machine to let him open the door. "At that moment I am at one with all of humanity who have waited for a machine to give them their laundry back"
Your sitting on a park bench I come to sit on the bench as well.

I can see all the points here. She is quite rightly jealous. You have had a 3 year relationship with him. All be it long distance and platonic but nevertheless admittedly emotional and deep. She is Johnny come lately to the scene and at only 2 weeks will have a long way to achieve the bond that you share with him. Put yourself in her shoes. He is getting laid and wants to keep her sweet but in his defense has taken your side of the argument. You say that you have no problem "taking a back seat". Then do so, for a while at least. There may be no need to sever all ties, just stay shtum for a bit. She is feeling fragile and it may not last long or she may become more secure. Either way it could just be temporary thing. However it may be an idea to try and cultivate some relationships a little closer to home. PS. on a totally different subject. I couldnt help but notice on your profile that youre a Dr Who fan. Are you looking forward to the new female one?

Many points have been discussed here but I will concentrate on #2 "Religions were invented by priests "to control the masses"". As in any generalization, it will fall apart in specifics. Of course this is not true of all religions but lets talk turkey here. This is a western site, 98% of us either come from or live with some form of Christian religion. Yes we have 1 or 2 ex Muslims but I have seen no ex Sikhs, Hindus or Buddhists. So let us look at Christianity. Was it formed to control the masses? Roman Catholicism most certainly was. The roman empire in its decline took over Christianity to preserve its influence. Its edicts and repression of sexuality, a classic example of prohibition and control. It is a mute point whether Mormonism or Jehovahs Witnesses were invented to control those that live under their spell. Just as it irrelevant that gunpowder was not invented for killing. Because is most instances thats what they or it is used for.
I'm feeling lonely tonight.

Why do so many males hover or look at my profile?
273kelvin comments on Sep 4, 2018:
I occasionally hover or even view a profile of guys. I am straight and I am not looking to change but often this will be simple curiosity. Where are you from? age? interests? education? background etc? Will add a little colour to a post or comment. For example if someone posts a UK artist be it in music or a comedian. Its fun to know or guess where/how they may have gotten to like them.
Advice! It’s been a loooong time since I’ve been, uh.

Scars are the tattoos that money cant buy. I had a gf with inverted nipples. They would stay that way until she orgasmed or at least became very aroused. She was terribly self-conscious about them but I told her was fun to get them to come out and play.
