As usual, the gun argument is spurious. Alcohol is a dangerous drug and heavy taxes are imposed on it to restrict its consumption, as with tobacco. Prohibition, having been proven not practicable in this case. If your stance held water then it should still be leak proof when expanded. Theoretically, there should be no limit on what arms a citizen could own. A machine gun, tank, F16 fighter, A-bomb or biological WMD. After all, people kill people, not weapons? Also if that is true for a US citizen then it should be true for any country, Iran or N. Korea, etc. Europe does have a serious problem with knife crime but it pales in comparison with the US gun deaths. No one gets accidentally killed in a drive-by stabbing.

@Rob1948 Okay I don't live there so.... However, I have seen many comments on here from US members on Brexit posts, Also comments from your current and former head of state on the subject. As for road deaths, etc. from what I have read gun deaths are the most likely cause for young black men. Then we go back to Northern Ireland in the 70s at the height of the troubles. Bombs going off all over (funded largely by US citizens) but still road deaths were the largest cause of death. Yet how many American citizens would have wanted to go there on vacation? If road deaths are always going to be top killers that is not a good reason to start smoking. The argument that the cat is too far out of the bag is also erroneous. It is not an excuse to do nothing. Nor is the fact that mass shooters had already broken the weak gun laws an excuse not to make them tighter. If there are already more guns than people in a country? Then to my mind, that's a good reason not to sell any more of them.

273kelvin replies on Jun 7, 2019:
Have you ever contemplated suicide? The method to use is a big decision. You could throw yourself off a tall building, overdose or slit your wrists. Each of these methods requires actions. A tall building means you have to go out and find one, with all the chances of 2nd thoughts on the way. An overdose means that you have to have all the pills ready to eat. As for cutting? there is a formidable resistance to applying a blade to one's own flesh. How much easier to just swallow a gun barrel and pull. It is open to impulse, the equivalent of internet shopping. Gang killings are pretty much in the same boat. The UK has a lot of gang violence and quite a few deaths but most are from stabbings. This is a very small fraction of the USA figures. That's because guns are not easy to get hold of here. What I would like to know as an outsider is, what would it take for guys like you to think that gun control might be a good idea?. If it could save a child's life? 2 children lives?10? 100? 1,000? at what point would you say that it should be harder to own a gun than a car?

I can still work in it if pushed. They say that non-metric systems help make your brain more flexible to different basses. The French are the guys to blame. Not only are they responsible for you and most of the world driving on the wrong side (Yes you do, How can you shoot, or gesticulate properly through the driver's window with your left hand?) but the metric system too. They went too far when they tried to metricate angles and therefore longitude and latitude. 360 is so divisible. As for ratios, I was on a course where this old guy could not get em. Then I explained that they are like betting odds and the penny dropped.

I am no prude and I have used it on occasion. It never did much for me, I never paid and was only at a party or some such. However, when I invite people back there is a marked difference to the charlie crowd. Instead of joining in the conversation and music etc. They huddle in the kitchen and only engage with themselves. My point is that it does not matter if you imbibe yourself. The vibe that is generated changes the scene. Just as a disco in the 90s would be ecstasy driven. The attitudes and mindset of our society has been altered by it`s endemic use

@Cast1es, @bleurowz Sorry Castles but you have missed the point and Bleuowz too. Yes, there are parody band but they have gigged. In fact, they have another band called "the Mighty wind" who supported them at a gig but got booed off. The only time in history that a band got booed of so they could come back on, If that makes sense. On the contrary, it has enacted systems that increase the problems. For all of Trumps faults (and they are legion) he does have an agenda. You may not like it but at least it has direction. Take myself as an example, I am single, creative and can string a sentence together. Okay, I am a bit quirky, not a "type". Most of the women do not respond to my messages. Then those that do stop talking after the 1st or 2nd response. Nearly all of them a very beige, ie. "I love my family, walking the dog, eating out/in" or worse "fill in later". Lots of them have filters set either at their age or just 2 years older. Some, (who should take a realistic look at their profile) have them set at 10 -16 years younger. Nearly all of the horror stories you hear about internet dating. The ones that end up as a judge Judy type of scam, are from people who have dated out of their league. Someone who is probably younger and definitely better looking. This applies to both sexes. Brw. I just glanced at your profile and if we were on the same page of the map?
