On some sites this is the expectation. People are far from each other and sure they talk of meeting up but everybody knows it's just for fun.
273kelvin replies on Feb 23, 2019:
Yeah I get that. Some just want someone to talk to as well. It does not include sex. I personally find (with the exception of my post lady) thats annoying. especially if they are within local distance.

What is a catfish? I've seen it written lately and only know of one that feeds on the bottom of a river or lake. It does taste alright if covered in salt and pepper and fried. Does it mean it is a slippery person looking for anything to eat?

@Kattywampus69 Difficult to describe but one scene kinda sums it up. She was having trouble with one of the mic stands. After taking the mic and singing into it, she could not put it back. First time she tried a little then just stood there, stock still, mic in hand petulantly waiting like someone at a checkout queue behind a change counter. Till a stage hand minion came running over to replace it for her. Second time she did the same thing for about 30 secs and then just dropped the live mic onto the floor, with all the resultant thuds. The same minion then came running on stage and we all laughed so hard. It could have been a hard ass act but it did say "this lady dont take no prisoners" priceless.

@LenHazell53 Had a brief look and its pretty predictable. I have a close friend from Venezuela who has told of how what should be one of the richest countries in the world has been fucked up by Chavez and his cronies. Now he knows how bad it was before and all the good intentions of socialist rhetoric that they followed but the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Add to that the corruption and blatant incompetence, personality cult and denial of any opposition. What is left is a country on the brink of civil war. You really think that Maduro does not want the US to invade? Think again, it is about the only thing that will keep his sorry lame duck arse in power. If he was really the legitimate leader of that country, then there would be no disputing of the elections and thousands of his citizens would not be walking all the way to the USA to face a wall. As for RT it is fox news ++.I do not do fox, RT, the mail or sun newspapers. If you would like a more balanced view on this situation (ie from no one with a dog in this fight) try this. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2019/01/venezuela-crisis-latest-updates-190123205835912.html

The most powerful nation in the world cannot accept the fact that it let 6,000 of its people be killed by some nutters with craft knives. So it looks for reasons other than its own inadequacy. "A worldwide zionist plot to which our own govt agencies were complicit". Lady Diana, all those people who would buy magazines with her picture on were the people who killed her. @Closeted Murder is the unlawful killing of another human being period. What he did may have been as unforgivable as murder but you cannot call it that. As for other animals and their deaths at our hands........ In Harvard university there exists 3 types of white mice. To all intents and purposes they are the same. No difference in breed colour or genetics but nevertheless they are classified under 3 separate types. The 1st is the experimental mice. They live under strictly controlled humane conditions and anything you do to them has to be documented and approved. The 2nd are the mice kept to feed the snakes. They are reasonably well looked after but end their days been swallowed alive. The 3rd are the white mice that are descendants of escapees. These infest the walls and floors of the building and you can do what you like with them.

@lerlo My favorite schadenfreude. I was heading down south on the motorway (freeway) about 10 miles out of Manchester. United has played in Moscow the night before and fans were returning back from the game. The game had united on top until last when Moscow equalised then went on to win on penalties. As we drove the opposite lanes were deadlocked. I mean the queues were so bad people were out of their cars and sitting on the barriers. It was priceless, not only had they gone all that way to lose like that but 10 miles from home and theyre stuck in a coach going nowhere fast

Add to this there are the team competitions like the champions league. It throws rivalries into disarray when your hated team is playing a foreign one for international honors

@dahermit The UK went metric (sort of) we still have pints, miles and therefore mph but these are measurements for the individual, not for export. In all else its metric. The advantage of this is trade. If you make tools, kitchens, pipe or anything that you wish to sell outside of the US. Then there is a distinct advantage to using the sizes that the rest of the world requires. It is only that the US is the biggest market that has kept her from this. A dual system can only work in a short term interim period. In the end you have to bite the bullet as we did and plunge wholeheartedly into metric. Anything else courts chaos. The biggest fuck up not involving injury or loss of life. A joint mission between NASA and the european space agency (ESA) sent a probe to Mars. All went well until it approached the red planet and then it just disappeared. An investigation was launched to discover how this $5 billion project could go so wrong. In the end they discovered that NASA was calculating entry speeds using mph whilst ESA was using the international scientific standard Mps. It just burnt up

273kelvin replies on Jan 26, 2019:
@Gooniesnvrdie Firstly let me say that I respect vegans especially more than vegetarians who hypocritically denounce me for eating meat but happily eat dairy. However I must say that terms like murder are too strong. We have because of our society rightly outlawed the killing of another human unless under very defined terms. It is part of every legal and moral system ever devised. Jeffrey Dahmer killed his victims. That is different than pure cannibalism. I have met people who have ate placenta, we all have eaten loose skin on our finger and even the spit swallow debate could be defined a cannibalism. The killing of animals is not and should not be called murder. To do so is to impose your world view on others. A practice that we abore in theists. What Edison did was abhorrent, cruel and totally reprehensible. You can call him a cunt but not a murderer. To do so would condemn all non-vegans as complicate murderers. Which sounds to me like theists who condemn any that do not adhere to their particular branch of religion as sinners and the devils agents.
