@WizardBill This program goes out on Sunday at 11am. It is a nightmare for programmers trying to fill up the mandatory hour. Given we are very secular and even if we arent we cannot be arsed with churches except for 3 times. Water, confetti and soil. Myself I quite like a bit of gospel music and belt out a good version of " jesus on the main line " when pissed. Or " mercedes benz " on the way back from the pub. This prog was what we gravitated to in our compulsory religious lessons in state school. Its hard enough to get a load of teenages to do maths or english, let alone religion. @AxeElf The Romans had a very large and extensive empire. They can be accused of many things but stupidity was not one them. Plus there is no record of said "census" nor any written or archaeological evidence of the murder of the innocents. So if the book makes no sense then our common sense is wrong. Failing that it is only meant as a "spiritual guide". Never mind that Christians have burnt other Christians in the past for not believing in the absolute truth of the bible. Now we are not meant to think that talking snakes and such were real. So what parts are true? Genesis? Exodus? How about Job? Unless it was pasted in afterward? Isaiah prophesied "He (the Messiah) shall be born of the house of David". Now maybe someone took this too literally? Not content with all those begats showing his lineage. Maybe they thought it meant "in" the house of David. The inn being owned by the local ruling house. @mt49er I agree with racism being more rampant in all white communities I grew up in a white blue collar suburb. The overt racism was one of the reasons I left. I now live a very multi-cultural area near the city center. During the 80`s we had a huge riot here (in Toxteth). After which it became a "no-go" area for police. Some of my old friends from the burbs look incredulous at me when I tell them it was the Muslims (mostly Somali) that straightened out the place.
