Thanks for the feedback. Since there are now 2 feeds for users who are a member of a group, if someone is posting a lot in a group, it will flood the "group feed". I'm thinking of limiting the # of posts showing on the main page to 1-2 per group so that any 1 group doesn't over power the list. I was only thinking that we'd have a tab for "Suggested Posts" that show up ONLY on the group page. This way, members can keep an eye out for posts in the general feed that are interesting to the group.

Once we get caught up on coding, we hope to cleanup the way we handle new posts. Currently, there are 3-4 different forms which could be consolidated and simplified. "Journal / Blogging" would probably be handled by adding "Profile only [ ]" checkbox when you made a post to tell the site to only show it on your profile... then some layout options for the profile page to be more blogging-friendly. Hopefully could also improve the input form for posts.

Sorry, was tweaking the algorithm to let members get a few more points based on how many people respond to your posts. Now you can earn up to 10% of the next level's points when members comment on your posts. (was 5%, then 20% and now to 10% which I think is about right).

Admin replies on Jan 23, 2018:
Yeah, I should have written the question differently - good point. My sadness was more that I was hoping we could recruit some atheist Republicans who could help deprogram the "religious right". Now, if a Republican ever says they believe in science, they're demonized as a liberal. I admin that I'm learning the ropes here. It might be that for the secular movement to flourish, it has to shun Republicans.

I can hear where you're coming from and understand your point. Maybe, I'm naive, but I was hoping that atheist Republicans (which do exist) could be the tip-of-the-spear when it comes to deprogramming the "religious right". Who would you listen to more about joining a church - a Democrat or Republican? Atheist Republicans could make secularism less political... now, if a Republican ever says they believe in science, they're demonized as a liberal. Sigh.

Yep, there was a bug that I think I just fixed where comments that shouldn't need member 6+ approval were showing up.
