@RedneckProfessor I see...a splendored, splintered thing, just brought into the cold light of day for further examination on Valentines Day. Makes perfect sense.
Love is a many-splintered thing.

@Andy4608 I read a book about how the language was deliberately changed by a 19th century US clergyman. I'll try and find the title. He changed English English in order to create an American language. I had thought it was an organic thing until then.

Is it ok that my son is playing lots of sweary rap music to me?

If I'm driving my daughter somewhere (who is a young adult, not a kid), and she plays any rap which is "Ho-Bitch-bitch-Ho" I tell her to shut it off. Uh-uh, you don't get to play that garbage while I'm driving you. Parenting is about modeling and modeling boundaries is important
Amisja replies on Feb 15, 2019:
@PalacinkyPDX Thats the point. My children have always treated me like an annoying older kid! I enjoy all the stuff they do.

@OwlInASack I am rubbish at all this. I was slightly irritated by Slyvia Plath but I wouldn't mind spending eternity with her.

I think it might be a great idea to have an occasional conversation about the music just to see what he's picking up (especially from the lyrics) and what interests him about the music.
