Do you consider being a Pagan or wiccan a religion?
Amisja comments on Jan 5, 2019:
Paganism is a religion as in pagans believe in the tangible evidence of nature. They believe in worshiping nature, the turning of the globe and the seasons. Wiccans are silly.

If he is honest about living in the West Bank, can you imagine his life? I would beg steal and borrow to remove my family from that. I am a little inconvienced by being broke but dreading every single day...course he is looking for help. Damn I would too...I would flash my boobs if I knew I could get my family out of that. He won't love us, he doesn't find us 'very pretty' (as he wrote on my message). He is a desperate young lad with more experience than we can dream of. I really wish I could help.

Anyone on agnostic.com that voted for trump and now regrets it?
Amisja comments on Jan 5, 2019:
I have voted Labour every single election since I turned 18. I would vote for JC as he is just about left enough for me. I feel everyone who voted for Trump did so for two reasons, brown people and Hillary Clinton. I believe people voting for Brexit voted for two reasons brown people and some daft nonsense about 1950's UK. Both groups were lied to. I genuinely feel there are hostile influences manipulating people in both countries and as such, I think both countries should have a revote. It is likely that if you tell people they were fooled, they would feel embarrassed to the point were they would be unlikely to change their point of view. If you tell people these extraordinary forces have manipulated them, it is likely they will feel different. 2019 is going to be a big year for us all. Ultimately Brexit will ruin UK and Trump will ruin USA, basically because the powers that be want to sell the British working class to bottom feeding industries and Trump wants to sell you all to Russia. Keep a firm hold, its gonna be a bumpy ride!
Feel surprisingly good this morning. How're you all? I've got a hankering for some cantankerin'.
Amisja comments on Jan 5, 2019:
Hey Mr. Wolf did you have a nice New Year?
I am not a cruel person.
Amisja comments on Jan 5, 2019:
I genuinely believe that Trump will make one collosal mistake which will lead to his eventual indictment. However, I imagine this will be following his term in office. I believe that he has made a deal with the Russians to buy a presidency and agreed to further Putin's desire to re-establish the old USSR. Not of course by military means, but by the use of technology. Russia has a diminishingly small population (for its land mass). It has endemic alcohol and drug misuse problems. They cannot be the global power they once were without more people. Why else would Trump talk about Montengro being a threat, Poland invading other countries (not true) The USSR's invasion of Afghanistan being a good thing? These are scary times for us all. Here in UK we are 90 days from the biggest disaster this country has ever made. Seriously, the geeks have inherited the world.

I am so dreadfully sorry for your loss. For everything, your Mother-in-law is reaching out in the only way she knows how. It must be difficult considering your wife's memory and who she was. Anchors and crutches are hard things to dispense with and maybe she won't be ready herself but maybe she can understand and honour your wife enough to stop. The Death of Facebook | How Social Media Ripped Apart a Generation - YouTube
Amisja comments on Dec 30, 2018:
I read an article once that kinda turned these ideas on their head. (I get stuck on the old lit search rabbit hole sometimes but I will try and find it and link it). The article suggested that because the internet and global knowledge has made the world smaller, people are less likely to view global neighbours as 'other'. The knowledge economy is the most powerful tool ever created by people and like many other inventions, there is the potential for good as well as evil. Yes we see people taking and posting videos of children being hurt, people taking selfies at their dying grannie's bedside or people being racist, but without these videos these events go unspoken. Those videos, facebook etc allow people to discuss their beliefs (good or bad) in a reasonably safe environment. I must say, after I deactivated FB, I have felt much more at ease. I always strongly believe that the way forward for all of humankind is to keep talking.

Amisja comments on Dec 30, 2018:
What we call a soul probably emanates from the Pineal gland. Serotonin and Melatonin affect our circadian rthymn and help us understand the world. Our relation to other human beings is also affected by this. There is no soul but there is love.

Well done on waking up and thinking. My belief is that Atheism, agnosticism and humanism are the result of the individual having given the issues a great deal of thought and considered all the options. I believe that for many people, being open as regards this lack of belief is very uncomfortable and for some there is the potential of a death sentence. For me in Europe it is a non-issue as no one cares. I applaud those of you brave enough to stand up for you lack of belief in difficult circumstances. I am not sure I would be that courageous.

Amisja comments on Dec 29, 2018:
I think this isn't actually the entire story. Certainly the limit of human life hasn't dramatically increased across the board and there is very recent evidence to suggest the average life span is falling, particularly in western countries. However some of the biggest causes of death were infectious diseases which are currently easily treatable. This may not remain the case with the overuse of antibiotics. In addition to this trauma was likely to have caused more fatal injuries. What is happening currently is that more people live longer lives. Not necessarily well but longer.
