Amisja comments on Oct 27, 2018:
I am in UK so the law may be different. We have a 'dare to share' protocol so we maintain absolute confidentiality within the boundaries of safety. If other people are potentially at risk we permitted to share. This came on the back of a SUI were a man had voiced wishing to kill his wife, the practitioner did not share and the man duly killed her. I recently shared information with the police when a service user disclosed accessing images of child sexual exploitation. I had told him beforehand the usual speel about the limits of confidentiality. I think stalking is a potential risk indicator. Supervision is a good idea.

It is now illegal to say that Mohammed was a paedophile in Europe.
Amisja comments on Oct 26, 2018:
This doesn't sound accurate. Paedophillia is a primary sexual attraction to pre-pubescent children. Of his wives only Alisha was young and only one source refers to her being underage. The marriage (like most marriages of that era) was a political union. Britain and France's Eleanor of Aquitaine, married at 12 years. Mohammed's first wife, Khadija, was older than him by many years. In Arabian culture, marriage was contracted in accordance with the larger needs of the tribe and Mohammed took wives often in order to secure their future. I am not a believer but I urge you to be honest. Mohammed (who definitely existed) was not a paedophile, he was a man of his era.
This made me laugh far too much. [babylonbee.com]

This is what happens.... First they steal a profile with 3 or 4 stock photos. Sometimes not even of the same person. The girls are unbelieveably attractive, The men are rich and sucessful They will be recently widowed or heartbroken. Single Mums or Dads to one beautiful child (scarily pics of a child may also be included). They will make an inane post. Then we help them by replying. So the post will say, 'Love make world better'. It will be slightly grammatically incorrect. If you reply you'll get a pm. 'Hello, I couldn't just pass your profile without commenting on you. You are the most beautiful woman (amazing man), I have ever seen. I send this message with the hope we can be friends on maybe more' Now, I am a 52 year old chubby ginger and hardly anyone's most beautiful woman. Then comes the back and forward. Now if you are adventurous, you can poke the spider for a bit of fun. If you are sensible you block them. Usually after 4 or 5 days will come the killers...remember the beautiful child? Well he'll be fighting for his life with huge medical bills. Now your new love will be stuck doing some very important work for the UN somewhere remote and they cannot possibly get to the bank...so can you possibly send money and if you do they will repay with interest. Oh and here comes the humdinger...THEY LOVE YOU! I have heard of vulnerable, lonely people who have handed over their life savings. I watched a documentary where they suggested these practices were a £50mill (?£75mill) a year industry. Real people get really hurt. My thoughts are this. If you are podgy 65 year old single man, with no real wealth and only a collection superhero dolls to your name, a 24 year old supermodel doesn't really think you are the most amazing man on earth....sorry. Please be careful Love Jayne xx

Why is the label African Americans used to describe black Americans
Amisja comments on Oct 23, 2018:
This really weirded me out when I lived in USA. People would describe themselves as Irish Americans who had never been to Ireland, or Italian American or whatever. I couldn't understand a nation that was at the same time massively patriotic (like I was once called 'unAmerican' for not liking cheese...I'm English!) and also clinging hold of some ancient history from two or three generations previous. I mean I don't call myself a Viking Brit!

Is Marriage Outdated?
Amisja comments on Oct 23, 2018:
Human beings lived for 1000 of years without needing to get hitched. Marriage was virtually always about ownership and joining families together. The love stuff is actually very recent. I think as we mature as a species, we'll need these ceremonies less. Saying that, I am always available for sewing frilly white frocks ;).

We are creatures of nature, like slugs, or peanuts or dandelions. We have an illusion of free will. We live basically to procreate. The Exodus: Nice Story; Pity About The Reality: Part Two THE TEN PLAGUES We’ve all learned ...
Amisja comments on Oct 20, 2018:
I am less inclined to go for pure fiction and more likely to believe wildly exaggerated. The plagues for example, there are tons of examples of widespread 'plagues' as the bible described. The first born son thing too, lots of diseases still, to this day affect the very young to a much wider degree. As girls are more or less non-existent in the OT, they were unlikely to get a mention. Plagues that kill children first were probably common. As the population as a whole was much younger then anything affecting the elderly would be less likely to be recognised. A few of these events, unfortunately timed in close proximity to each other was likely to have been seen as a punishment in supersistious times. I agree there is no evidence of an exodus, however there were tons of nomadic people in those times (there still are), Prof Christina Hays, suggests what is more likely is a few of these groups got together and shared stories of daring deeds. The parting of the water, again can happen in times of extreme weather. I think it is likely that, like a lot of human stories, there was a kernal of truth that was retold and retold until it became more and more fantastic.
Outside the box, thanks to my education! I have never experienced what 'normal' is.

However if it bothers you, it might be worth checking it out. BTW, I am only over the penines from you in Lancs. My son is a student at York. I was there recently.
