I hate waiting!!! Anyone else watching our country go to shit?

Some points of light, but why do I feel that it's turkeys voting for Christmas.
Steve Marriot- if Keith Richards had had his druthers, Steve would have been the next Rolling Stone ...
Andy4608 comments on Nov 5, 2018:
Great musician. I remember seeing him live with one of his "non name" bands. Some time in the late 70's iirc. RIP.

Another blast from the past!!! I have an album of his (still, I think). Bought it discounted, not sure why, played it a couple of times. I think I recognised one track: Rainy Night in Georgia. Though why he was singing about inclement weather in the Soviet Union I had no idea.
Hi all, anyone local to watford Hertforshire?
Andy4608 comments on Nov 4, 2018:
Hi, used to live in Harpenden, only missed you by 20+ years!!!! However: Come On You Hatters!!!!!
So, wondering if you have a sex playlist, and if so, what song(s) you'd recommend?
Andy4608 comments on Nov 4, 2018:
Haven't thought about this for years. When I was in my teens it was Eric Claptons "Let it grow" but that was down to circumstance. A little surprised that Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg haven't come up. (Any pun purely incidental)
Has anyone here done electro , that is probably one of my favorites that I do.

Maybe there is a reason that vanilla is still one of my favourite ice cream flavours.
Savoy Brown - Money Can't Save Your Soul [youtube.com]
Andy4608 comments on Nov 2, 2018:
What is it with Savoy Brown? I remember them from the early seventies, when I was a teenager, playing on the minor tour circuit and plugs for their album (name completely escapes me) in the music press. I think I may have seen them but I do not recall ever hearing them on the radio. I haven't heard any mention of them for around 45 years and they sank into a memory recess until I heard them on the radio (KKXT) a couple of months ago and a couple more times since. This is my first visit to this page and they're leaping out of the screen!!! Really not bad, I shall have to look them up.
What if Everyone Voted?
Andy4608 comments on Nov 1, 2018:
Then we would be like Australia.
Any regrets?
Andy4608 comments on Nov 1, 2018:
Regret for the past and fear of the future are the two things that impact our lives the most. As today is the bridge between the past and the future, I try to stay in the present. There are past decisions that, with hindsight, perhaps I should have made differently. The past cannot be reworked and with time I have made peace with it.
What are your halloween plans?
Andy4608 comments on Oct 31, 2018:
PBS or a book!!! So I don't appear to be a misanthropic curmudgeon, our neighborhood HOA organised trick or treating on Saturday evening.
Did popularity ever matter to you throughout High School Years?
Andy4608 comments on Oct 31, 2018:
I didn't give it much thought at the time. I went to a selective single-sex school (Age 11-18 ) I was smart and athletic and mixed easily through a wide range. Maybe because of this, and I didn't really notice at the time, I made few close friends. At the end, I walked away and never really looked back. When the precursors of today's social media sprang up, I joined the sites for my schools. The greater interaction came from my classmates at elementary school rather than school. Having transplanted in midlife, I have come to appreciate the value of meaningful relationships and the difficulty of creating new ones.
So tell me, what does it mean to be an Existentialist?
Andy4608 comments on Oct 29, 2018:
"Existence precedes essence" In short: what we do determines what we do. It makes perfect sense :-)
Spiritual but not Religious, WHATS THAT
Andy4608 comments on Oct 26, 2018:
There is book on the subject " A little book of atheist spirituality". I bought it on Amazon for 1c. iirc (plus p&p). The author is French so it is a little like reading granite, but it does offer some insight.

Any Reggae Recommendations?
Andy4608 comments on Oct 25, 2018:
Some great suggestions: they take me back to my (misspent) youth. As a blanket suggestion: explore Trojan records, I remember that a lot of great reggae by less well-known artists was on this label. They are still in business, celebrating 50 years.
Spiritual but not Religious, WHATS THAT
Andy4608 comments on Oct 25, 2018:
I would tend to agree with the convenience angle in many cases. Though, to expand slightly, spirituality is concerned with your relationship with yourself, rather than with an external deity (the base tenet of religion).
