I had it for years & years after an extremely abusive marriage, complete with "flinch reflex" at sudden moves. Knew immediately what they were talking about the first time I read a description of the syndrome, years later. The other day (this is 45+ years later) a TV show had a 1-second shot of a head-shaped depression in a wall at a murder scene, I got the shakes instantly. The gift that keeps on giving, yessirree.....

Today I interviewed for a job as a caregiver for the elderly.

Do not Ever give cash...if they are hungry, buy them a meal, and guide them to the food stamp office, or food banks, meal kitchens. If threadbare, take them to Wal-Mart or Goodwill. Homeless? Take them to a shelter...and etc. Making them less helpless will have long-term good outcomes for them. I find panhandlers that Say they need " money for food" when i offer actual food, mostly tell me to "eff off" because they want the cash for drugs. I then feel free to guiltlessly walk on.

I have a will, just updated, and a Do Not Revive order as well. . I have also made provisions for my 2 dogs....both rescues, it will be hard on them to have changes. Their guardian is named in my will along with substantial money for their care. My executors are neither one dog people, or even pet people, so it was important to have an advocate/ care person specifically for my dogs.

In most states you can change your name, for around $200. Here in Connecticut, just trot on down to your town clerk and sign a paper stating you have no intent to defraud anyone, in a few weeks the papers will come from a probate judge, notarized. Then youtake them to to Social Security, the DMV, notify your credit cards to issue new ones, TaDa! you are legally "Autumn" or whatever you like, doesn't even have to be 2 words! I did this after my divorce...my divorce lawyer wanted $250 to return me to a previous name Only, for $150 I did it myself and enjoy my choice every day.

1. Take off the headphones, it is like wearing a sign saying "i'm busy right now", only a complete dolt would interrupt whatever you are listening to! And I assume you do not want a complete dolt for a date? 2. After you ditch the headphones, you will be able to strike up conversations with lots of people.....old people may have sons, grandsons, nephews to introduce you to.
