I have a will, just updated, and a Do Not Revive order as well. . I have also made provisions for my 2 dogs....both rescues, it will be hard on them to have changes. Their guardian is named in my will along with substantial money for their care. My executors are neither one dog people, or even pet people, so it was important to have an advocate/ care person specifically for my dogs.

In most states you can change your name, for around $200. Here in Connecticut, just trot on down to your town clerk and sign a paper stating you have no intent to defraud anyone, in a few weeks the papers will come from a probate judge, notarized. Then youtake them to to Social Security, the DMV, notify your credit cards to issue new ones, TaDa! you are legally "Autumn" or whatever you like, doesn't even have to be 2 words! I did this after my divorce...my divorce lawyer wanted $250 to return me to a previous name Only, for $150 I did it myself and enjoy my choice every day.

1. Take off the headphones, it is like wearing a sign saying "i'm busy right now", only a complete dolt would interrupt whatever you are listening to! And I assume you do not want a complete dolt for a date? 2. After you ditch the headphones, you will be able to strike up conversations with lots of people.....old people may have sons, grandsons, nephews to introduce you to. Kids may have older brothers, or divorced dads. Etc etc etc.

I live in an area of older suburbia, of 50' or 100' wide lots, near the original Pfizer and Electric Boat, and we are absolutely infested with coyotes, eating all small pets! There are tons of deer here too, but coyotes prefer nsmaller stuff. The good news is, waaay less mice!

I travel with 2 very small dogs. They charge you at least $25/night per dog, in addition to the room charge & give you crummy smokers rooms. I drove 17 miles once after agreeing to pay $25/dog/ night, when I went to check in, was told there would ALSO be a $100 non-refundable deposit. Spent the night in the car. Found a tiny, 18mpg used RV (Wnnebago Rialta) and have never looked back...my sheets, my bathroom, no bedbug worries! Usually spend Zero $ for sleeping, spend the $$ on sightseeing and excellent dining while the dogs enjoy looking out the windows.

In America just 30 years ago, pastors of all faiths preached private works of goodness, staying christian, and staying Out of politics. Then came Mccarthy-ism, adding " under gawd" to the pledge of allegiance (in the 50's...i was in school and remember tripping over the new phrase, and how many many people were upset by it being added). Then along with the idea of defeating " godless communism", which led directly to the Vietnam War, somebody noticed how much money you could get out of "believers", and it's been downhill ever since. My parents and grandparents, and yours, were raised on the strict interpretation of separation of church & state! It was taught in every classroom and butressed in churches........the dangers of a theocracy were clearly 3xplained. I find these times incredibly frightening on both a personal & national level.

I do not agree with your premise that the topics you name necessarily have "emotional" components...yes, a person might be unhappy at realizing they are gay, and fight it, or stay in the closet, but the Fact is, it is an inborn condition.
