I’m up to episode 4, I have not gotten into a new podcast in some time... liking this... it’s terrible and wonderful in its terribleness:)

I think I would need an entire weekend away from my electronic devices just to acclimate to not having electronic devices and then I can do a few days without them… As I respond to this at a red light, LOL

Don’t judge youself harshly, talk to them... none of us are children and we all have baggage. You know I believe in meditation, it’s somthing I do to try and recognize my own triggers before they happen... with mixed success. We never stop being human☯️

ArdentAtheist comments on May 21, 2018:
Why don’t healers do Gods work in hospitals and just put the doctors out of business? Or better yet, why don’t ambulances take you to church? Hmmm?
What's in your coffee?
ArdentAtheist comments on May 21, 2018:
If you need to put stuff in your coffee you don’t really like coffee, you like stuff. It took training my pallet a bit... So much quicker to get in and out of the Circle K in the morning if you take it black, now it’s my preference. I put sugar in espresso and nothing in American coffee.
Scary ass neighbor
ArdentAtheist comments on May 21, 2018:
When my kids were in preschool not once but twice other kids in the school were mauled, hospitalized and permimantly disfigured by family beloved pit bulls ... They’re great dogs until they’re not. I’ve never heard of that happening with a beagle. I love all dogs, but a pit is simply not a sensible family pet... In both cases we are talking about friendly pooches that were up until that moment lovable family pets. Having seen the stitched up face of a three-year-old I don’t think you’re going to convince me. This dog is muzzled and I don’t know that they have small kids so perhaps fine... just saying.
Ok so I am curious. What one g would be the icing on your cake of life?
ArdentAtheist comments on May 21, 2018:
The icing is so thick I’m not sure there’s any cake under there.
It seems to me that the Christians have been trying to get rid of guns for a long time! Now they ...
ArdentAtheist comments on May 21, 2018:
I have not seen Christians trying to get rid of guns… While I do not want to get rid of all guns I do want to get rid of assault weapons, raise the age to obtain a weapon and have rigorous background checks. It’s what we call common sense gun laws, Trump supporters wouldn’t understand.
Do religious curse words perpetuate religion?

ArdentAtheist comments on May 21, 2018:
This is about as far from the biggest problem I have with religion as you can get. There are about 100 things that you could say that don’t include God, all of them better than an awkward silence. I tend to go with, salute.
Do u think Christianity is bad ? What's your opinion on it
ArdentAtheist comments on May 21, 2018:
I think it and all religions are false and we are never served by believing lies.

ArdentAtheist comments on May 20, 2018:
Colors fade, that’s why I went with all black ink on mine... as my tatt changes with my age I look at as one looks at a fine antique... I think it adds to why I have it, it represents my life... I won’t try and fix it, I’d rather embrace it. My life is not perfect but it’s mine.
How many of you atheist are pro-life? Just curious
ArdentAtheist comments on May 20, 2018:
I’m pro choice, and not my choice.

ArdentAtheist comments on May 20, 2018:
Eh... I was raised Catholic, it didn’t stick... it was well intended cultural life of being a NY Italian... I’m not scared. I think some people like to live in the drama. Basically I was sent to church and school, school was the one I was told to get good grades in with it’s science classes:) it’s not abuse, it’s how culture has always explained the world... Anyone that believes religion these days also was sent to school and if they can’t choose wisely it’s kind of on them. It’s not about blame, it’s about cultural evolution and evolution takes time.
It's almost 4:20 here, so....
ArdentAtheist comments on May 20, 2018:

ArdentAtheist comments on May 20, 2018:
Awesome ... Curtis Paul was the bass player in 64 & 65 and went on to play with Seals and Croft... he lives locally but sadly is now very ill. He was a customer and a hell of a nice guy when he was well enough to still come in. He was with Seals and Croft when they broke up in Japan… The guys got great stories. We have mutual friends so I’m in the loop as to his condition. Last time he was in was a few years ago and I baught his old bass rig from his days on the road.
Folks, do you know the two most vicious lies of religion?
ArdentAtheist comments on May 20, 2018:
The most vicious are the ones that would have it in the science classrooms and the ones that that push political agendas... those are the concern.
Question for all of you up around my age range[60] If you've been divorced at least once would you ...
ArdentAtheist comments on May 20, 2018:
No, marriage is a bad deal for men! I don’t need legal documents for my love life and I don’t need a woman that wants one. My divorce was messy so if that sounds harsh it’s no more harsh than how the laws are tilted against men. I have 3 great kids and I’m 54, I see no benefit to marriage ... Both from the perspectives of it being a religious institution and a legal one.
It's gone way too far

Sneezing demons
ArdentAtheist comments on May 18, 2018:
I think it’s a little silly to be bothered, it’s a cultural habit. I usually say salute but that’s my Brooklyn Italian upbringing. If someone agrees with you by saying “Damn straight” is that a problem?... or when something is a surprise I like, “jumping Jesus!” .. I get pissed when religious people go to areas high in aids and tell people condoms are sin... I don’t have time to be mad about linguistic habits that amount to nothing more than being polite.

I do the same, farmers market near my job... A go to for me is a chickpea salad, toss it in pita pocket, It’s two bucks to buy the whole package of pita bread and I just bring the rest home. I gave up fast food About five years ago… That was two years before I went vegetarian let alone Vegan. An accumulation of small changes gets big results... you go!

ArdentAtheist comments on May 12, 2018:
My ex was jealous of my guitar playing, would complain that she had no hobbies... suggested I “grow up and stop playing the guitar”, I told her to tell that to Andrea Segovia! ... it should be noted that she started out as a groupie, she would hang out around the rehearsal space writing out all of our lyrics. Also I was making money as a guitarist and a teacher. She had been a poet when we met and it was her artistic spirit that attracted me to her, she stopped her writing and chose to attack my art instead, i’ve played guitar since I was 4, I was not going to stop for anyone, ...there you have a recipe for divorce... never sugest a musician stop playing because you can’t find a hobby, that was irritating. Had it been snoring or something I would have been fine.
I'm afraid tRumps damage may not be easily fixed.
ArdentAtheist comments on May 12, 2018:
It’s a tug of war between the ignorant and the educated... The dumbing down of America is important to Republicans because the only thing that can keep them in power is an ignorant population. Education is the fix.

Athiestists and Astrology
ArdentAtheist comments on May 12, 2018:
https://youtu.be/kjxSCAalsBE Astrology is bunk, ancient myth... The definition of a myth is something people believe that isn’t true... The bass line in this is a fine example of bass player over play... Most often astrology claims must include the words, for entertainment purposes only… The fault lies not in the stars but in ourselves - Shakespeare

ArdentAtheist comments on May 10, 2018:
We ascend to heaven to dwell forever in the house of the lord. ...um wait, I confused that with a plaigerized myth designed to control the masses and bring power and wealth to the elite. We don’t go, we stop... when your car dies it’s still there. We are caporal beings... primates, do you think there is a monkey heaven? B/c it is POURING BUCKETS here: Joan Jett-Have You Ever Seen The Rain [youtu.be]
ArdentAtheist comments on May 10, 2018:
Great, I once pissed her off... I was a bit starstruck backstage, she was wearing a full fishnet bodysuit, she thought I was staring and got pissed off and went and put on a robe… It was Joan Jett! I would’ve been staring had she been wearing a winter coat... I had to learn to act like stars walking around was no more interesting than a plumber. She was one of the first shows I worked. By the time I shook Liberace’s hand he was just another guy, LOL ... Got to the point where I could do things like drive Joan Rivers to her hotel without batting an eye… She kept telling me about her daughters pony and how much she hated Engelbert Humperdinck.
Are there others out there who despite Anti-theistic/Atheistic/Agnostic beliefs enjoy religious type...
ArdentAtheist comments on May 10, 2018:
Religion is part of history and society, good fodder for a film... I suppose the Exorcist would be scarier if I believed in possession, I think some people have mental disorders that should be diagnosed by a Dr, not a priest. I would not watch shows that attempt to indoctrinate but entrainment is fine. However the genre the exorcist and the omen are in is horror not religion and aptly so. As an atheist I don’t believe in God but I’m not making believe religion doesn’t exist.

ArdentAtheist comments on May 10, 2018:
I love coffee, skipping it I risk triggering a migraine and that I don’t love. 3 pots would probably kill me... I sometimes drink an entire pot of espresso, that’s 4 demitasse cups worth or one mug. The meditation gurus are very against caffeine, it’s not good for meditation, it feeds monkey brain, it can take longer to calm the mind. I gave up all fast food, ciggeretts, cigars and all meat and dairy over the last 6ish years, giving up coffee would be harder than any of that, plus I really don’t want to... I take it black, no sugar. Having just enough without going crazy is my preference but that 2nd cup is alluring.
It never gets old..

ArdentAtheist comments on May 9, 2018:
I have some very religious customers that I also think are nice people, verbiage is often littered with the religious vernacular, my responses are secular with some acquiescence. I don’t overthink it in the moment, it’s not the point of the conversation. I sell some very high end instruments and if they want God to bless me I’ll deal with it by venting to you folks:)

ArdentAtheist comments on May 8, 2018:
Stress is the mind spending too much time on the things you can’t control. Funny I spotted this just moments after a meditation session.. I get stressed, I’m not enlightened, I’m not a guru but meditation gets me recentetd, calms the mind and body. Everything is fine if you take the time to notice that nothing is wrong. The next few hours of my day will be busy, having made the effort I can bring calm to what would otherwise be stressful☯️
